6:35AM - Maureen is sound asleep.
7:04AM - Maureen is awake. She is clear-eyed. alert and engaged—more so than at anytime I have observed in the last five to seven days. When offered water via the swab, she actively accepted and swallowed the small sips.
7:30AM - Maureen remains awake. She accepted a few more sips of water from the mouth swab. Remains alert and engaged.
Maureen began her day @ 8:04AM. She is in good form this morning—alert, engaged and a bit chatty. Congestion is somewhat present. The diaper is medium wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.
Breakfast service began @ 8:32AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maureen is tilting to the left a bit. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Djon and I use each day.
Daily MiraLAX dosage: None
8:32AM - Djon administered a dose of Flonase into each nostril.
General observations @ 8:52AM> The day obviously got off to a very pleasant start. Maureen has acquitted herself well so far. As of the writing of this post, she is starting to fade. Energy is dissipating. Eyes are starting to close. She is chewing much slower. Head is starting to droop a bit. All of the coughs this morning, six to this point, are of the heavy/phlegmy. Djon and I were pleasantly surprised to get back to our normal routine.
9:04AM - We just tilted to the geri chair back one level for Maureen's general comfort since she may very well sleep for a bit. Djon cleaned her mouth out with a swab as a precaution.
9:37AM - Djon is clipping Maureen's fingernails.
9:48AM - Morning oral care routine
9:55AM - Facial routine
General observations @ 10:34AM> The hard/heavy/phlegmy coughs persist. Sneeze count is up today—total of four so far. Maureen is also breathing primarily out of her mouth this morning so far. Nose is more than a little congested.

10:54AM - Rest Break #1 begins.
11:00AM - Due to the heavy coughing combined with nasal congestion, we decided out of an abundance of caution to give Maureen a COVID rapid test. The test result was negative.
11:45AM - Rest Break #1 concludes. The diaper was light wet. Djon and I performed a clean & change. Upon completion, we took Maureen to the kitchen for lunch.
11:58AM - Lunch | For starters, Maureen will enjoy 1/2 of a normal size organic fruit smoothie. Djon used all Malk (almond milk) in the smoothie. One school of thought discovered by Carolyn is that dairy products may be causing the phlegm and related hard coughing.
12:05PM - Fr. Hal Stanger, a close friend of the Murphy family, came to the house to confer upon Maureen the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Tom, Carolyn, Djon and I were also present. Fr. Hal was kind enough to stay and visit with all of us for 90 minutes in total.
1:29PM - Djon and I tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to relieve pressure off of her sacrum.
1:30PM - Fr. Hal departed.
2:04PM - Late lunch | Djon gave Maureen one piece of shrimp and a small medley of squash and zucchini.
