September 13 daytime update

6:42AM - Maureen is awake. She appears very congested this morning. Breathing primarily through her mouth. Her voice is somewhat raspy. She moans somewhat frequently in a low tone.
7:10AM - I am sitting next to Maureen caressing her head. As long as she is awake, I will offer her sips of water periodically, She has accepted it in most cases. Light moaning persists. I took her oxygen level and temperature. Both are fine—96 and 98 respectively.
7:38AM - Maureen remains awake. She is getting somewhat chatty—laughed on several occasions. I remains by her side.
7:55AM - Thankfully. as of the writing of this update, I have not had to use the suction pump at all.
Maureen began her day @ 8:15AM. She is alert, engaged and chatty—laughing at times. Nasal congestion is heavier than normal. The diaper was light wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.
We examined the pressure ulcer. Djon believes the area is beginning to heal because he can see new skin growth. The pressure ulcer remains stage 2. 8:46AM - Djon administered a dose of Flonase into each nostril.
Breakfast service began @ 8:48AM. Posture in the geri chair is almost perfect. Instead of the normal oatmeal, Maureen enjoyed the other half of the ham, onion and American cheese omelette Sandy made last Sunday. Djon also gave Maureen a banana mashed with a fork. 9:21AM - Morning oral care
9:25AM - Djon reclined the geri chair one notch for Maureen's general comfort and to relieve pressure off of her sacrum.
9:27AM - Morning facial routine including arms and hands
9:42AM - Maureen feel sound asleep in the geri chair.
General observations @ 10:17AM> As I started to write this update, It occurred to me that this was the first somewhat normal morning we have had in several weeks. Maureen was awake, alert and engaged prior to 8:00AM. Breakfast went well. Chewing and swallowing were good—only four coughs. Posture in the geri chair was very good. The only consequential new trend is that Maureen is now sound asleep for 30 minutes right now in the geri chair. Djon and I intend to get Maureen outside at some point today. The same thing occurred yesterday. Let's hope and pray the rest of the day goes as well.
10:25AM - Maureen woke up and was a bit confused/disoriented.

11:00AM - Gone for a walkabout.
11:44AM - The three amigos returned to the house after a very refreshing two block walk Maureen slumped to the left in a somewhat pronounced fashion for most of our stroll. MAP Care's sixth man, Magic Mike, once again stepped out to help keep Maureen upright.
11:50AM - Djon and I took Maureen directly to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. After completing a clean & change, we placed Maureen on her right side.
11:59AM - Rest Break #1 begins
1:02PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper was light wet. Djon and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then transported her to the kitchen for lunch.
1:15PM - Lunch | Maureen enjoyed a serving of tuna salad, 1/4 bowl of pureed Chicken Tortilla soup, a small serving of potato salad and a small serving of pureed zucchini. Maureen will also enjoy one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.
1:55PM - Afternoon oral care
General observations @ 2:03PM> The day continues to go well. Maureen handled lunch without issue—only three coughs. She was engaged, energetic and verbal. Eyes were wide open the entire time. Posture in the geri chair is very good. It is so good to see.
2:15PM - We headed to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #2. Diaper was dry. Djon and I placed Maureen on her right side.
2:25PM - Rest Break #2 begins.
3:05PM - Rest Break #2 ends. Diaper medium wet. Djon and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then headed to the front room.
3:25PM - Fruit snack - finely cut watermelon and pureed cantaloupe and pineapple.
