  • 6:30AM - Maureen is sleeping for the most part.

  • 6:50AM - No change.

  • 7:10AM - Maureen is beginning to stir.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:05AMAM. She is chatty and engaged—smiled a few times. Congestion is minimal. The diaper is light wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:32AM. Posture in the geri chair is almost perfect. Maureen is tilting a bit to the left and forward. We used the two green wedge pillows to straighten her posture. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Djon and I use each day.

  • 8:38AM - Djon gave Maureen a dose of Flonase in each nostril.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/2 cap

  • In addition to the MiraLAX, we gave Maureen an extra two ounces of prune juice.

  • 9:14AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 9:20AM - We tilted the geri chair back one level to make Maureen more comfortable and to relieve/reduce pressure on her lower back/sacrum.

  • 9:22AM - Morning facial routine including hands and arms and also eyelash cleaning and eye drops.

  • General observations @ 9:30AM> Breakfast went well. Energy, engagement, communication and responsiveness were all good to very good. Chewing and swallowing went well. There were a few very brief periods where Maureen dozed off. All in all, Maureen started the day well.

  • 10:02AM - Light morning exercises

  • 10:29AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:00AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a very small formed bowel movement. Djon and I completed a clean & change. We then set Maureen up on her right side.

  • 11:12AM - Rest Break #1 begins

  • 12:12PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper was medium wet. After Djon and I completed a clean & change, we transported Maureen to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:26PM - Lunch | Djon prepared a serving of Chesapeake Bay shrimp, 1/2 a bowl of chicken and pea soup, and a medley of grilled portobello mushroom, squash and zucchini. Maureen will drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water during lunch.

  • 1:27PM - Afternoon oral care

  • General observations @ 1:45PM> Lunch did not go well today. Maureen coughed quite a bit—8 in total. Many were hard coughs where she made a grinding sound. She became more lethargic as the lunch service progressed. As we wrapped up lunch, Maureen could barley keep her eyes open. She nodded off on several occasions for brief periods of time after lunch.

  • That's New> Maureen kept her tongue pulled back for a large majority of the lunch service. This continued after lunch as well. This same thing occurred 1-2 times last week. I asked Maureen to stick out her tongue. She complied but then immediately pulled it to the back of her mouth again.

  • 2:05PM - We headed to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #2. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen also had another very small formed bowel movement. After completing a clean & change, Djon and I placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:16PM - Rest Break #2 begins

  • 3:15PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper is light wet. Djon and I completed a clean & change. We then transported Maureen to the front room and placed her in the lift recliner for the remainder of the afternoon.

  • 3:35PM - Fruit snack—what could be better?
