Sunday, April 12 Daytime update

  • 9:30 am- Maureen is awake. Tom is by her side, giving Maureen sips of water.

  • 10:00 am- We raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of crushed Levothyroxine with pear puree. Maureen had 6 oz of thickened lemon water .

  • 10:15 am- We started the day with changinga medium wet diaper. There was a large brownish spot on the diaper. We cleaned Maureen, applied Sureprep barrier film and Cavilon cream. Dressed and headed to the front room.

  • 10:45 am- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 10:55 am- Administered 10 mg of crushed Loratadin with puréed pear.

  • 11:00 am- Breakfast- omelette, 8 oz of thickened prune juice with 1 cup of MiraLAX. Maureen coughed twice.

  • Carolyn and Coleen visited Maureen.

  • 11:15 am- Deacon Andy arrived in for Sunday service.

  • 11:30 am- Morning oral care.

    Facial and hand care routine followed.

  • 12:00 pm- Administered 20 ml of Geri- Tussin with puréed pear.

  • 12:30 pm- Maureen is resting in the recliner, looking at the digital frame pictures in front of her.

  • 1:00 pm- Fresh fruit snack- watermelon. No coughs.

  • 1:45 pm- Maureen took a 15 minutes nap.

    She had 6 oz of coconut water.

  • 2:10 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her rest break. Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her . Inserted a suppository and positioned Maureen on her left side at 2:25 pm.

  • 3:25 pm- Maureen’s rest break is over. She had a large formed bowel movement.

    Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and transferred her to the recliner.

  • 3:45 pm- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 4:15 pm- Maureen had 10 oz of coconut water. Coughed twice.

  • 4:30 pm- Dinner- beef pot roast, 10 oz of sparkling water.

    Maureen coughed twice.

  • 5:30 pm - Administered 20 ml of Geri-Tussin , 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with puréed pear.

  • 5:45 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Her diaper was heavy wet. We cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream.

    Applied Cetaphil lotion on her face, hands, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • Maureen consumed 40 oz of thickened liquids today. She wasn’t very receptive to it though, many times was just holding it in her mouth and sometimes just spitting it out.
