October 18 daytime update

  • 6:30AM - Maureen goes in and out of sleep.

  • Maureen began her day @ 9:05AM. She is alert, awake and slightly engaged as we get started. Diaper is dry. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Maya and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Breakfast service began @ 9:35AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Maya and I use each day.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage - None

  • Maureen will consume 8 ounces of prune juice today.

  • 10:10AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 10:15AM - We tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to relieve pressure off of her sacrum.

  • 10:20AM - Morning facial routine

  • 10:40AM - Organic fruit smoothie. We brought the geri chair back to its full upright position for the smoothie. Maureen did not cough once.

  • General observations @ 10:55AM> The morning went well. Maureen was responsive and energetic. She often enjoys finishing Maya's sentences. Coughing was a bit in excess of average—6 times but none of them were red faced. As mentioned above, Maureen did not cough at all during the smoothie service. We will continue to feed her the smoothie with the geri chair in the full upright position.

  • 11:15AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for RB#1. Diaper was light wet. Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. After completing a clean & change, Maya and I placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 11:31AM - RB#1 begins.

  • 12:20PM - RB#1 ends. Diaper is dry. We dressed Maureen and headed to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:35PM - Lunch | Maya made a batch of her delicious egg salad. She also gave Maureen Maureen 1/2 a bowl of pinto bean soup prepared by Maya's husband Ivan. and a serving go roasted root vegetables. Maureen will consume one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Coconut Water.

  • 1:11PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 1:16PM - We tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to reduce the pressure on her sacrum

  • General observations @ 1:45PM> .The afternoon period went reasonably well. Mauree only coughed three times—none were of the red-faced variety. Her energy and engagement gradually dissipated as the lunch the afternoon progressed. By the tie we were preparing to head to the bedroom, Maureen's head was dropping forward somewhat.

  • 2:00PM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for RB#2. Diaper was medium wet. After completing a clean & change, Maya and I placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:12PM - RB#2 begins

  • 3:13PM - RB#2 ends. Diaper is medium wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then transported her to the front room for the remainder of the day.

  • 3:31PM - Fruit snack
