  • 6:30AM - Maureen was sleeping when Maya arrived.

  • 6:40AM - Maya checked the diaper. It was wet.

  • 6:50AM - Maureen is now awake. Maya will give her sips of water periodically until she begins the day as long as Maureen remains fully awake.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:00AM. She is happy and chatty. Congestion is minimal this morning. Diaper is light wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Maya and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:40AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maureen is only leaning slightly to the left. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Maya and I use each day

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • General observations @ 9:21AM> The day has gotten off to a good start. Oddly, Maureen's congestion got worse as the morning unfolded. Maureen has her eyes wide open for the most part. Energy is good. This in turns leads to acceptable levels of engagement, responsiveness and communication. Coughing is about what we would expect this morning. As of the creation of this update, Maureen coughed four times during breakfast—two of them were directly after sneezes.

  • 9:50AM - Morning oral care. As Maya was using the thin brush to clean between Maureen's teeth, she noted a little redness and a trace amount of blood coming from the upper right gum.

  • 9:55AM - We tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to relieve stress/pressure on her lower back.

  • 10:00AM - Eyelash cleaning and eye drops.

  • 10:05AM - Morning facial treatment including hands and arms

  • 10:44AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:02AM - We headed to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #1. Diaper is medium wet. Maya and I performed a clean & change. We then placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:16AM - Rest Break #1 begins

  • 12:28PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper is light wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then headed out to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:40PM - Lunch | 1/2 a turkey and Swiss cheese sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of homemade green pea soup with chicken and 1/2 a tomato sliced. Maureen will consume one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water during the lunch service. For dessert, Maureen enjoyed one peanut butter cookie and a small glass of milk.

  • General observations @ 1:11PM> Lunch has been a bit rough. Maureen is heavily congested. She has coughed five times and sneezed twice. Overall energy is satisfactory. Her eyes are slightly closed. Head is tilted back a few degrees. We inserted the red velour couch cushion behind her head in the geri chair.

  • Maya and I noted a sharp edge on the left side of Maureen's right thumb. She filed and buffed the edge down. In the process, Maya also smoothed out a couple of other fingernails that warranted attention.

  • 1:39PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 2:05PM - We headed to the bedroom for Rest Break #2. Diaper was light wet. Maya observed some fecal discharge as we began the clean & change process. Maureen had a medium formed bowel movement as we were wrapping up. We repeated the clean & change process and then placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:23PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:05PM - Rest Break #2 ends. Diaper is medium wet. Maya and I reformed a clean & change. We then transported Maureen to the front room.

  • 3:25PM - Afternoon fruit snack
