June 3 daytime update

  • 6:30AM - Maureen remains asleep.

  • 7:15AM - No change. Maureen remains asleep.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:45AM. She is in fine form this morning—alert and engaged. Congestion is minimal. The diaper is medium wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Maya and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • Breakfast service began @ 9:17AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. We used the two green wedge pillows to straighten Maureen's posture. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Maya and I use each day.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • General observations @ 9:54AM> Breakfast went well. Maureen had good energy. She was communicative, engaged and responsive. Chewing and swallowing were excellent. Coughing was very minimal—only 2 times. There were no periods where she nodded off. All in all, we broke from the gate in good form.

  • 10:00AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 10:09AM - Maya administered a dose of Flonase into each nostril.

  • 10:10AM - We tilted the geri i chair back one notch for Maureen's comfort and to relieve stress/pressure on her lower back.

  • 10:11AM - Morning facial treatment including hands and arms

  • 10:38AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • 11:08AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was light wet. After completing a clean & change, Maya and I placed Maureen on her right side. Maureen will spend the second half of the rest break on her back to avoid her neck/upper torso being tilted to the right.

  • 11:20AM - Rest Break #1 begins

  • 12:20PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper is light wet. After completing a clean & change, Maya and I transported Maureen to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:34PM - Lunch| 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread, 1/2 a bowl of green pea and chicken and a serving of beets. Maureen will consume one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. For dessert, Maureen will enjoy a small serving of rice pudding.

  • General observations @ 1:10PM> Lunch went very well. Maureen has good energy. She was communicative and engaged. Coughing was minimal—only three times and no red face. There was one sneeze.

  • 1:20PM - Afternoon oral care.

  • 1:43PM - We tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to relieve stress/pressure on her back.

  • 2:00PM - Time to head to the bedroom to prepare for the day's second rest break. Diaper was light wet. Once the clean & change process was complete, Maya and I place Maureen on her left side since she was tilting to the right in the geri chair.

  • 2:13PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:13PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper is dry. We did not clean & change Maureen. Maya and I transported Maureen to the front room.

  • 3:27PM - Fruit snack
