  • 6:40AM - Maureen is awake. I gave her a few swabs of what on her lips and teeth. She did not open her mouth as is her normal reaction when offered water.

  • 7:20AM - I checked on Maureen. She remains awake. I gave her a few more sips of water using the pink mouth swab.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is alert and engaged. Congestion is somewhat present. The diaper is medium wet. Maureen also had a small formed bowel movement. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.

  • 8:32AM - Djon gave Maureen a dose of Flonase in each nostril.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:35AM. Posture in the geri chair is good. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Djon and I use each day.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None.

  • Due to the lack of bowel activity, we will administer 2 Senna pills two hours after the last of Maureen's standard morning medications are administered.

  • We also have Maureen 6 ounces of prune juice this morning—2 ounces more than normal.

  • 9:33AM - Administration of morning medications. We will administer the two Senna tablets just prior to when Maureen starts her first rest break.

  • 9:37AM - Morning oral care

  • 9:44AM - We tilted the geri chair back one level for Maureen's comfort and to relieve the pressure on her back.

  • 10:10AM - Morning exercises

  • 10:31AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • General observations @ 10:45> The day has gone well so far. Energy is a little better than average. She nodded off on only a few occasions through the smoothie. Coughing was a bit high for breakfast but virtually nonexistent for the smoothie. Engagement and communication were satisfactory.

  • 11:00AM - We headed to the bedroom to pressure for Reason Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. After completing a clean & change, Djon and I placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:09AM - Rest Break #1 begins.

  • 12:14PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is medium wet. As we were completing a clean & change, Maureen had a medium formed bowel movement. Djon and I completed the clean & change process. We then headed to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:32PM - Djon administered two Senna tablets.

  • 12:32PM - Lunch | Djon prepared a serving of Chesapeake Bay shrimp salad, 1/2 a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup and a medley of grilled portobello mushroom, squash and zucchini. Maureen will consume one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.

  • 1:40PM - Teeth

  • 1:55PM - We had a FaceTime chat with Maya. Everything is going well with her mother—just a little bit slower than she expected.

  • 2:10PM - We headed to the bedroom for what will be an abbreviated Rest Break #2. The diaper was heavy wet. After Djon and I completed a clean & change, we placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:23PM - Rest Break #2 begins

  • 3:10PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper is heavy wet. Djon and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then headed to the front room for the remainder of the day.

  • 3:30PM - Fruit snack
