6:45AM - Maureen is going in and out of sleep
7:20AM - Maureen is now more or less awake. She goes in and out of sleep from time to time.
Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is in good form. Congestion is minimal. The diaper is medium wet. Click/tap here to view a detailed overview of the process Djon and I use to get Maureen ready for the day.
8:46AM - Saline solution treatment administered via nebulizer.
Breakfast service began @ 8:58AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. We used the two green wedge pillows and the red couch pillow to set Maureen up perfectly. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Djon and I use each day.
Daily MiraLAX dosage: No MiraLAX or Senna. Maureen will only consume 6 ounces of prune juice.
9:35AM - Morning oral care routine
9:40AM - Eyelash cleaning and eye drops
9:43AM - Morning facial including hand and arms
9:50AM - Maureen left eyelid got red and swelled completely shut in the minutes after completing the facial. Here right eyelid also got red and began to swell although not as bad as the left. Djon and I will keep an eye on this as the day proceeds.
General observations @ 9:57AM> The morning went well. Maureen had reasonably good energy. Engagement and communication were good. Coughing was what we would consider normal. The only wild card this morning was the swelling in her eyes.
10:12AM - We headed out for a walk.
10:46AM - Walk ends. Maureen, Djon and I went a total of .85 miles. We took the time to visit her favorite house on the corner of Greenleaf and Olcott.
General observation @ 10:52AM> The eye swelling has subsided somewhat. Maureen's right eye is still 50% closed.
10:51AM - Organic fruit smoothie
11:16AM - Djon administered the Flonase - one dose in each nostril.
11:15AM - We headed to the bedroom for Rest Break #1. The diaper was heavy wet. Maureen also had a fair amount of fecal discharge. Djon and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then placed Maureen on her left side.
11:28AM - Rest Break #1 begins.
12:24PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is heavy wet. Maureen also had a medium soft bowel movement. After completing a clean & change, we headed to the kitchen for lunch.
12:39PM - Djon prepared 1/2 a turkey and Swiss cheese with mayonnaise on lightly toasted sourdough bread, 1/2 a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup and a medley of grilled portobello mushrooms and squash.
1:42PM - Afternoon oral care - While Djon was cleaning Maureen's teeth, he noted an "off color depression" on the last tooth on the bottom left side. Djon probed this area with a prog brush on several occasions. Maureen did not express any pain.
1:56PM - Djon and I transported Maureen to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #2. Diaper was medium wet. There was also a small amount of fecal discharge. After completing a clean & change, we placed Maureen on her right side.
2:08PM - Rest Break #2 begins.
General observations @ 2:12PM> Lunch went well. Coughing was minimal. Maureen did not have a lot of energy. She was slumping to the left in a somewhat pronounced fashion—and slightly forward. As you might expect, engagement and communication were definitely below average. Eye swelling persists especially in the right eye.
3:10PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper is medium wet. After completing a clean & change, Djon and I transported Maureen to the lift recliner in the front room for the remainder of the day.
3:28PM - Fruit snack
