April 26 daytime update

  • 6:30AM - Maureen is sleeping.

  • 7:00AM - She continues to sleep—opens her eyes from time to time.

  • 7:10AM - Maureen is now awake. Diaper is wet. We will give her water periodically until she gets up.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:10AM. She is in good form—alert and engaged. Maya and I noted immediately that Maureen is very congested this morning. The diaper was medium wet.   • Breakfast service began @ 8:50AM. Posture in the geri chair is good. Maureen is tilting somewhat slightly to the left. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Maya and I use each day

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • General observations @ 9:32AM> Maureen started the day in good form. Energy is good. Eyes are wide open. Engagement, responsiveness and communication are all at acceptable levels. At one point this morning, Maureen looked Maya squarely in the eye and said, "You're stupid."

  • 9:50AM - Morning oral care routine

  • 10:00AM - We tiled the geri chair back one notch for Maureen's comfort and to relieve pressure on her lower back.

  • 10:05AM - Morning facial routine including hands and arms

  • 10:15AM - Hand, arm and shoulder exercises

  • 11:05AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was light wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 11:20AM - Rest Break #1 begins. Maureen will spend 1/2 of this time on her right side. The other half will be spent on her back.

  • 12:25PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is light wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then headed to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:41PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 of a tuna salad sandwich on toasted sourdough bread, 1/2 a bowl of vegetable soup and a serving of beets. Maureen will consume one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. For dessert, Maureen will enjoy a small serving of rice pudding with cinnamon.

  • General observations @ 1:14PM> Lunch went reasonably well. Maureen was somewhat alert. Eyes were slightly closed. Her posture in the geri chair was good. Coughing was excessive during lunch—a total of ten occurred throughout the lunch service.

  • 1:35PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 2:05PM - We headed to the bedroom in advance of Rest Break #2. Diaper is light wet. Maya and I performed a clean & change and then placed Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:19PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 2:20PM - Michael Osel stopped for a visit. He brought Maureen some homemade potato salad and chocolate treats.

  • 3:05PM - Rest Break #2 concludes. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then proceeded to the front room for TPIR.

  • 3:25PM - Fruit snack
