Wednesday, March 15 Daytime update

  • 6:30 am- Maureen is deeply asleep.

  • 7:00 am- Maureen is still sleeping.

  • 7:30 am- Maureen is still sound asleep.

  • 8:00 am- No change- Maureen is still deeply asleep.

  • 8:30 am- Maureen is still asleep.

  • 8:40 am- Maureen opened her eyes. We immediately put the oxymeter on her finger because she started twitching a little . Her eyes were normal, she was blinking. The pulse picked up at 97 for a second and slowly started to go down. It stayed in the 82-92 for about 10 minutes. The twitching continues for about 15 minutes. After that it slowly came back to Maureen's normal range- 62-65. Oxygen was always great- 93-95.

  • 9:00 am- Maureen is drifting off to sleep. Pulse is 59, O2-95.

  • 9:20 am- Maureen slept for about a few minutes only. She is fully awake and alert now . We started the day. Her diaper was medium wet. Dalia and I performed a full body bed bath. Applied Cavilon Barrier film and Cavilon cream. There was no redness observed. We dressed and headed to the kitchen.

  • 9:40 am- Breakfast- oatmeal, banana, 8 oz of prune juice with 1 cup of Miralax. We started with administering Levothyroxine with apple sauce. One cough, one sneeze during breakfast. Maureen smiled a few times.

  • Daily Miralax dosage- 1 cup.

  • 10:05 am- Administered Lisinopril and Loratadin with apple sauce. Maureen was able to cough out some phlegm. We used the suction machine .

  • 10:10 am- Morning oral care. We reclined Maureen's chair down one notch for her comfort.

  • 10:15 am- Facial routine.

  • 10:30 am- Maureen is snoozing in the chair.

  • 11:10 am - Half a smoothie. No coughs.

  • 11:30 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom . Her diaper was dry. We positioned Maureen on her right side at 11:40 am. She keeps smiling a lot!

  • 12:40 pm- First rest break ends. Maureen's diaper was dry. We dressed and headed to the kitchen.

  • 12:50 pm- Lunch- beets soup, chicken salad, steamed red beets, bottle of coconut water. Maureen enjoyed half of chocolate chip cookie. She coughed twice during lunch.

  • 1:20 pm- Oral care.

  • 1:30 pm- We spray the Saline mist in Maureen's nostrils, because her nose has been running

  • 2:10 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Diaper was still dry. Maureen will lie on her left side for an hour starting at 2:20 pm.

  • 3:20 pm- Second rest break is over. Maureen's diaper was medium wet and had a very small formed bowel movement. Dalia and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and headed to the living room.

  • 3:35 pm- Fresh fruit snack.

  • 3:45 pm- Weekly visit from Ann Emberson, RN.
