Updated: Mar 9

9:30 Maureen’s still sleeping.

9:45 She is now awake and accepting a few sips of water from the swab.

9:50 Diane and I sat her up and the LEVOTHYROXINE is administered with a little puréed pear, followed by 8 ounces of lemon water. We performed a clean and change, from a medium wet diaper with very light vaginal discharge. We transferred to the front room to prepare for breakfast.

10:20 now sitting comfortably in the front room, Shelly arrived at the same time as Carolyn and Colleen.

Shelly started performing her weekly evaluation, and let us know that maureen’s lungs are clear, she heard decent bowel sounds, and got the following vitals …

Temperature was 97.9°

Pulse was 61

Blood Pressure was 96/61

Diane prepared a waffle with butter and jelly, an 11 ounce container of coconut water, Maureen had all of her medication which included two SENNA tablets, 20 ounces of GERI-TUSSIN cough syrup, her antibiotic, CIPROFLAXACIN and her LORATADINE tablet. All pills were crushed and given with puréed pear.

11:10 Maureen had her first nebulizer treatment of the day, with ALBUTEROL

11:30 Kathy arrived and Diane left, shortly afterwards …

Maureen is closing her eyes and relaxing in the chair while we’re listening to some music on the TV.

12:00 Maureen has opened her eyes due to some coughing, I used the suction machine to remove some phlegm, I am taking care of the oral care at this time.

1:10 I cut up some watermelon, she ate it pretty well, also finished the coconut water from earlier, oral care, soon and get ready to go lay down.

2:15 Maureen’s laying down after we transferred to the bedroom, she was dry, we will see what happens at the end of the break.

3:15 maureen actually closed her eyes for about a 15 minute cat nap. When she woke up, she was still dry, but we changed her anyway in hopes that she would go…. Didn’t work.

We transferred to the front room had about 5 ounces of sparkling water right away and now we’re having the second of two albuterol treatments while watching FAMILY FEUD.

Approximately 29 ounces of liquid intake, thus far, today.

4:30 I prepared some chicken breast with sauce and broccoli for dinner, another full cup of sparkling water was finished as well.

5:30 meds, 2nd CIPROFLAXACIN, 2 SENNA, & OLANZAPINE, were crushed separately and administered with puréed pear … 12.5ml VIMPAT was given also. Oral care followed immediately.

6:10 Kathy and I transferred Maureen to the bedroom, still dry … we washed her up in hopes of urination, again, no good. After changing her shirt, we propped her on her left side with the wedge pillows and said G’night.

Evening vitals were as follows …

Temperature was 98.1°

Pulse was 74

02 was 95%

I will be sure to ask Luda to apply the Cavilon lotion to the appropriate areas.
