Thursday September 7, 2023 Daytime update

• 6:30am Maureen’s asleep lying on her left side.

• 7:00am Maureen’s still asleep.

• 7:30am She’s sleeping soundly.

• 8:00am Maureen’s starting to wake up.

• 8:30am Maureen’s taking sips of water via swab. She’s calm, there was no twitching or stress waking up.

• 8:40am Maureen seems ready to start the day, we raised her bed and administered 75mcg Levothyroxine with apple sauce.

• 8:50am Emily and I cleaned and changed a md wet diaper and applied Cavilon barrier and cream, washed Maureen’s upper body with warmed purple wipes and aloe vesta. No redness observed. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 9:10am Maureen is enjoying an oatmeal/fruit smoothie, 6oz of prune juice with 1/4 cap of Miralax, and couple spoons of Greek yogurt. She coughed once bringing out some phlegm.

• 9:30am Administered 10mg Loratadine with smoothie.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch for comfort.

• Daily Miralax dosage: 1/4 cap.

• 9:35am Morning oral care.

• 9:45am Saline Neb treatment.

• 10:00am Eyes care and facial routine performed.

• 10:20am Blood pressure: 110/60, P 73.

• Carolyn visited Maureen.

• Maureen stayed mostly awake in the Geri chair and she drank half cup of lemon water.

• 11:15am Transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first break. Diaper was dry, positioned on her right side at 11:25am.

• 12:20pm First break ends. Cleaned and changed a md wet diaper, dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 12:35pm Lunch: Tomato/pepper soup, shrimp salad, beets, a full cup of sparkling water, and coup spoons of Greek yogurt for dessert. Maureen coughed once during meal.

• Maureen‘s been very verbal during lunch!

• 1:20pm Oral care.

• 1:45pm Blood pressure: 112/72, P 67.

• 2:00pm Maureen finished drinking her first cup of lemon water.

• 2:20pm We headed to the bedroom for Maureen’s second break. Diaper was md wet, changed and cleaned. Positioned on her Lt side at 2:35pm.

• 3:20pm Second break ends. Changed and cleaned a md wet diaper and headed Maureen to the front room.

• 3:35pm Maureen’s enjoying her fruit snack (melon/pear). Coughed once, sneezed twice.

• Maureen almost finished drinking her second cup of lemon water.

Summary

Thankful to spend another good day with Maureen. She’s been verbal, alert and in good spirit mostly the whole day.
