January 27 daytime update

• 6:30am Maureen is awake, chatting to herself. She is lying on her left side.

• 8:00am Our day begins. Applied Tolcylen to both big toes. Maya and I washed the inner folds of Maureen’s skin and under her breasts using Aloe Vesta cleansing foam. There was some redness in Maureen’s waist so we applied a thin layer of Nystatin. Diaper is wet - cleaned up using the 3M cleanser spray, applied no sting barrier film to the former pressure sore area, Cavilon barrier cream to appropriate areas, and put on a fresh diaper. Transferred Maureen to the geri chair using the Hoyer lift.

• 8:24am Spoonful of honey followed by Thyroid pill with applesauce.

• 8:30am Breakfast - banana, bowl of oatmeal, 4 oz prune juice, and cup of water.

  • Maureen coughed once during breakfast.

• 8:48am Administered 5mg Lisinopril with applesauce and 20mL guaifenesin.

• 8:55am Oral care

• 9:03am Facial routine

• 9:15am Vitals:

  • Temp 97.6°

  • Pulse 72

  • Resp 14

  • O2 97%

• 10:30am Smoothie time.

• 11:00am We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet and she had a very small, formed bowel movement. We cleaned up and put on a new diaper. Maureen is turned to her right side with two green wedge pillows behind her and a pillow between her legs. She will rest in bed for one hour starting at 11:15am.

• 12:15pm Rest break is over. Maureen’s diaper is wet and she had a large, soft bowel movement. We cleaned up and put on a new diaper. We transferred Maureen to the Geri chair afterwards using the Hoyer lift.

• 12:33pm Lunchtime - tuna sandwich, mango salad, and homemade meatball soup with a bottle of organic coconut water.

  • Maureen coughed twice and was red in the face once.

• 12:58pm Administered 20mL Guaifenesin.

• 1:00pm Oral care.

• 2:00pm We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet and had a large, soft bowel movement. We cleaned up and put on a new diaper. Maureen is lying on her left side with two green pillows placed behind her and the pillow placed between her legs. She will rest in bed for one hour starting at 2:15pm.

• 3:15pm Rest break is over. Maureen’s diaper is wet and she had a small, soft bowel movement. We cleaned up, applied Cavilon barrier cream to appropriate areas, and put on a fresh diaper. Transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift. We headed to the front room after. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner.
