Sunday, July 06 Daytime update

8:00 am- Maureen is comfortably sleeping on her left side. Tom said that Maureen was awake at 6:30 for about 15 minutes, went back to sleep after Tom laid down with her.
8:30 am- Maureen is still asleep.
8:40 am - Maureen is calmly waking up.
8: 50 am- Maureen is awake now and looks ready to start the day. We raised the bed in upright position and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.
8:55 am- Tom and I started with changing Maureen’s medium wet diaper. There were two large brown spots on the diaper. We cleaned, applied Cavilon barrier film and Cavilon cream. There was no redness observed. Washed Maureen’s upper body, dressed and transferred her to the recliner.
9:10 am- Maureen had 10 oz of lemon water before breakfast.
9:15 am- Breakfast- omelette, pear, 4 oz of prune juice. She coughed a few times and was able to bring up some phlegm. Suction machine was used. Maureen sneezed a few times also.
10:00 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.
10:10 am- Morning oral care.
10:30 am- Nebulizer treatment with saline solution.
10:50 am- Facial routine.
11:10 am- Deacon Andy came in for Sunday service.
11:25 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. Diaper was dry. Maureen will lie down on her right side for an hour starting at 11:35 am.
12:35 pm- Maureen’s first rest break is over now. She took about half an hour nap. Her diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed it. Dressed Maureen and transferred her to the recliner.
12:50 pm- Lunch- lamb soup, chicken salad, pickled beets, 10 oz of coconut water. Maureen coughed twice. At some point I gave her the coconut water with a spoon, because she wasn’t receiving it from the cup and I had more control over her gulping only once at a time.
1:35 pm- Oral care.
2:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Her diaper was dry. We positioned her on her left side at 2:10 pm.
3:00 pm- We started getting Maureen ready for Sister Roberta’s coming. Diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her . Dressed and transferred to the recliner.
3:15 pm- Maureen had 10 oz of water mixed with sparkling water.
3:20 pm- Maureen is enjoying Sister Roberta’s treatment.
3:45 pm- Fresh fruit snack- watermelon, pear and kiwi. Maureen coughed three times. She sneezed many times.
4:45 pm- Nebulizer treatment with saline solution.
5:00 pm- Dinner- Pasta with cheese, peas and tomatoes. Maureen had 5 oz of water. She coughed and sneezed a few times.
5:50 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.
6:10 pm- Evening oral care.
6:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed it. Applied Cavilon cream. Applied Cetaphil lotion on her face, hands, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side with a pillow between legs and two wedge pillows behind her back.

Maureen had 39 oz of liquids today. She had a gargling sound in her throat pretty much the whole day. We got some phlegm out with the help of the suction machine. Almost every time she coughed, she sneezed also.
