  • 6:35AM - Maureen is awake.

  • 6:50AM - Maureen remains awake. Djon checked the diaper. It is slightly wet

  • 7:30AM - Maureen is still awake. The diaper was wetter. Djon elected to change it. He also took the opportunity to rotate Maureen to her other side.

  • Our day officially began @ 8:05AM. Maureen is in a very good spirits this morning—rather chipper. Djon thoroughly cleaned her. Before getting dressed, he applies a new layer of 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film and also applied a new layer of Mupirocin Ointment to the other "bite like" wound on her posterior.

  • Pressure Sore Update> Djon and I feel the pressure sore continues to heal. The wound size continues to decrease and the color continues to get more pink - almost skin like.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:28AM. Before feeding began, Djon administered the thyroid pill. Maureen's posture in geri chair is very good. She was tilting a bit to the left. We inserted a green wedge pillow on her left to straighten her posture.

  • Maureen will consume 1/2 a glass of unadulterated prune juice this morning.

  • GENERAL OBSERVATIONS @ 8:43AM> Eyes are wide open. Her arms are a bit high on torso—relaxed. Hands are also relaxed—not clenched. She is rather chatty this morning.

  • Based on Dr. DiFranco's instructions, we will insert Maureen's two dental fittings this morning after breakfast and after Djon completed the entire oral care process.

  • 8:53AM - Djon administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.

  • There is a slight amount of gunk/sleep in Maureen's eyes. Djon cleaned her eyelashes with warm water and Johnson's baby shampoo.

  • After completion of the complete oral care routine, Djon attempted to insert the upper and lower detail fitting. Both were too loose in our opinion—especially the lower one. We elected not to leave them in. Tom and Carolyn will consult with Maureen's dental care team and decide what to do next.

  • 9:36AM - We took Maureen to the bathroom since her pull up was wet. Djon and I waited 15 minutes. Maureen did not urinate or move her bowels.

  • 10:00AM - Through this point in the day, Maureen has not uttered the low moan/groan.

  • 10:06AM - Since today's weather is glorious, we decided to go out for a 1 mile stroll through the neighborhood.

  • 10:50AM - We returned to the house. The pull up was wet—urine had seeped through to Maureen's shorts. We headed to the bedroom for a clean and change. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen. As we were putting on a new pull up and a fresh pair of shorts, Maureen urinated again. We performed the entire clean and change process again.

  • 11:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.

  • 12:45PM - DOKA (Djon and Kathy), the official hair stylists of the Loyola Academy Ramblerettes, came to the house today to work on Maureen's hair. They once again did not fail to impress. Maureen's hair looks marvelous. "Maureen's hair is perfection defined,"said Djon. "It is such a pleasure to work with her." When asked for a comment, Kathy referred your humble correspondent to her PR team. I am still waiting for a reply.

  • 1:20PM - Lunch - Maureen had 1/4 of a turkey and provolone sandwich from Jersey Mikes and a 1/2 bowl of homemade butternut squash soup. She also drank a 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. For dessert, Maureen enjoyed a small dish of rice pudding.

  • 2:55PM - The pull up was wet. We headed to the bedroom. While removing the pull up, Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. Djon thoroughly cleaned her and applied a small amount of Mupirocin Ointment to the "bite like" wound on her posterior. There were two "bites." In Djon's view, one of them is completely healed. The other is almost gone as well.
