6:35AM - Maureen is awake. She is stirring lightly. The diaper is dry.
7:40AM - Maureen remains awake for the most part. She nods off from time to time.
Our day officially began @ 8:15AM. Her diaper was slightly wet. Maureen was a bit groggy at first. She quickly became engaged and alert. Djon thoroughly cleaned her with warmed wipes from the purple packet. He then proceeded to clean the pressure sore area with Aloe Vesta foam soap. Finally, he applied a layer of 3M No Sting Barrier Film to the pressure sore and Mupirocin to the lump/bug bite.
Breakfast service began @ 8:40AM. Djon administered the thyroid pill before Maureen began to eat her breakfast. Her posture in the geri chair is pretty good—listing to the left a bit. We used both green wedge pillows to ensure Maureen is sitting completely upright.
Maureen consumed 1/2 a cup of undiluted prune juice during the breakfast service.
GENERAL OBSERVATIONS @ 8:52AM> Maureen's arms are positioned mid torso. They are relaxed. Her hands are not clenched. As of right now, she has not uttered the low groan/moan sound. Eyes are almost completely wide open. She is chewing and swallowing extremely well.
9:14AM - Djon administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin with some apple sauce.
Teeth cleaning routine began @ 9:20: 1> Swab gums with warm salt water, 2> Clean out all gaps in teeth with a Proxabrush, 3> Apply Peroxyl Mouth Rinse to gums with an oral swab and 4> Brush teeth with Kids Crest.
There is a slight amount of gunk/sleep in Maureen's eyes. Djon cleaned her eyelashes with warm water and Johnson's baby shampoo.
9:45AM - Low moaning/groaning began as soon as Djon completed all the steps in the oral care process.
Maureen coughed 4-5 times during breakfast. Several of the coughs produced substantial amounts of phlegm. Djon was able to capture the phlegm on three occasions.
10:05AM - The low moaning/groaning has materially subsided.
10:30AM - We decided to give Maureen a small fruit snack in lieu of a fruit smoothie. She will need a little sustenance as we will not return to the house until approximately 2PM.
10:50AM - Maureen's pull up was wet.In advance of our trip to the periodontist, we decided to take Maureen to the bathroom in the hope she would have an opportunity to move her bowels. The pull up was slightly wet. We waited 10 minutes. There was no additional activity. Djon thoroughly
11:20AM - The Bright Lift van arrived. We headed to see the periodontist. The first order of business was to take a set of x-rays. Dr. DiFranco scaled Maureen's gums. Her team also probed Maureen's gums. They finished up by polishing Maureen's teeth. All in all it was a very productive visit.
1:50PM - We returned home. Maureen's pull up was wet. We headed to the bedroom for a clean and change. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen. He then applied a small amount of Mupirocin to the lump/bug bite on her posterior. We put on a fresh pull up and headed to the kitchen for a late lunch.
2:05PM - Lunch - Maureen enjoyed 1/2 of a turkey and provolone sandwich from Jersey Mikes.
3:00PM - We administered a dose of MiraLAX in a small glass of prune juice.
3:05PM - Djon performed the complete organ care routine.
3:50PM - Djon checked the pull up. It was wet. We once again headed to the bathroom. Maureen sat on the commode for 13 minutes. There was no activity.
