Saturday January 29, 2022 Dayshift Update

• 8:00am Maureen is awake and our day begins with a complete bed bath. The inner fold on Maureen’s waist has some redness so we applied a layer of Nystatin cream. Tolcylen applied to both big toes. Maureen’s diaper is wet and she had a large, formed bowel movement. We cleaned up using the 3M cleanser spray, applied no sting barrier film followed by the Cavilon barrier cream, and put on a new diaper.

• 8:30am Marie is helping Maureen through a set of exercises in bed.

• 8:50am Transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift.

• 9:00am Vitals

  • Temp 98.2°

  • Pulse 68

  • Respiration 14

  • O2 99%

• 9:06am Spoonful of Manuka honey, thyroid pill with applesauce, and saline spray in each nostril.

• 9:08am Breakfast - bowl of oatmeal, banana, 4 oz prune juice, and a cup of water.

  • Maureen coughed 3 times.

• 9:24am Administered Lisinopril with applesauce and 20mL Guaifenesin.

• 9:30am Oral care.

• 9:40am Facial routine.

• 9:55am We headed to the front room. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner.

• 10:30am Fruit Smoothie.

  • Maureen coughed twice.

• 11:00am We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we freshened up and put on a new diaper. Maureen is lying on her right side with two green wedge pillows behind her and a pillow in between her legs. Maureen will rest in bed for one hour starting at 11:15am.

• 12:15pm Rest break is over. Maureen’s diaper is wet and she had a large, soft bowel movement. She also urinated during the clean and change proces.

• 12:30pm We washed Maureen’s hair in bed. Transferred Maureen to the Geri chair after and Marie dried and styled her hair.

• 12:48pm Lunch - egg salad sandwich, sliced tomato, homemade lentil soup, and a bottle of organic coconut water.

  • Maureen coughed once.

• 1:25pm Administered 20mL Guaifenesin.

• 1:30pm Oral care.

• 1:40pm We headed to the front room. Maureen is sitting comfortably in the recliner.

• 2:30pm We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we freshened up and put on a new diaper. She is lying on her left side with two green wedge pillows behind her and a pillow in between her legs. Maureen will rest in bed for one hour starting at 2:40pm.

• 3:40pm Rest is over. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we freshened up and put on a new diaper. Transferred Maureen to the day chair and headed to the front room.

• 3:55pm Fruit snack.
