Saturday March 4, 2023 Daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen’s awake, Tom is by her bedside. He tells me, Maureen’s been in and out of sleep since 6:30 this morning.

• 8:20am Maureen’s fully awake and ready to start her day. Marrie and I performed a full bed body bath using warmed purple wipes and aloe vesta, changed and cleaned a light wet diaper and applied 3m barrier film and cream. We didn’t observe any redness except for a small spot under her Rt breast, applied a thin layer of nystatin. Dressed Maureen and headed to the kitchen.

• 8:50am Levothyroxine w/apple sauce administered.

• 8:55am Breakfast: oatmeal, banana, 6oz prune juice w/1/4cap miralax. Maureen coughed 5 times and had 4 sneezes during breakfast. Maureen had little energy during this morning.

• 9:15 Lisinopril w/apple sauce administered. We used nose suction pump to clear Maureen’s runny nose, and the electric suction pump to remove phlegm.

Daily MIRALAX dosage: 1/4 cap

• 9:30am Facial care. Reclined Geri chair one notch for Maureen’s comfort.

• 9:45am Tina and Dan visited Maureen and Tom, they brought donuts and coffee. Maureen enjoyed a red velvet!!! Coughed once.

• 10:45am Oral care.

• Maureen’s daily smoothie was skipped today.

• 11:00am Headed Maureen to the bedroom for her first break. Diaper was dry. Marrie and I positioned on her Rt side starting at 11:10.

• 12:10pm First break ends. Diaper was dry. Dressed then continue to give Maureen a bed hair wash and headed to the kitchen.

• 12:30 Blow dry and style Maureen ‘s hair.

• 12:45pm Lunch: Brussels sprouts soup, egg salad, fresh tomato, coconut water, a cup of water. Reclined Maureen’s chair one notch.

• Maureen’s energy seems to be better after her first break. She ate well, with strong bite and is sitting straight.

• 1:20pm Oral care.

• No snoozing after lunch. We used the suction pump twice in the afternoon to remove phlegm f Maureen’s mouth.

• 1:45pm Saline Neb treatment.

• 2:15pm We take Maureen to the bedroom for her second break. Changed and cleaned heavy wet diaper w/3m products. Positioned on her Lt side, break #2 starts at 2:25.

• 3:10pm Second break ends. Diaper was dry, dressed and headed Maureen to the living room.

• 3:25pm Fruit snack. Maureen gave us a couple of smiles:). Cathy visits Maureen.

Daytime summary

Today Maureen was with low energy starting the day up to about noon. Gladly, there was a turn for the better and after the first break, she was revitalized and had a great rest of the day!
