Saturday December 11, 2021 Dayshift Update

• 8:00am Maureen is awake. She is lying on her left side.

• 8:15am Our morning begins. We started with a complete bed bath. Her diaper is wet - we cleaned, applied barrier film followed by barrier cream, and put on a new diaper. Applied Tolcylen to both right and left big toe and allowed to dry for at least 10 minutes.

  • We found a red ring around Maureen’s belly button. There is discharge and a foul odor. Cleaned gently using a q-tip and applied a thin layer of nystatin on the irritated area.

• 8:46am Marie is helping Maureen through a set of exercises in bed.

• 9:00am We transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift and headed to the kitchen.

• 9:11am Maureen had a spoonful of honey followed by her thyroid medication with applesauce. For breakfast Maureen will eat a bowl of oatmeal with a banana and 4 oz of prune juice with a cup of water.

  • Maureen coughed 3 times during breakfast.

• 9:40am Oral care routine followed by facial routine.

• 10:05am We headed to the front room to the recliner to watch tv.

• 10:30am Smoothie Time.

• 11:15am We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet- we cleaned up using the 3M cleanser spray and put on a new diaper. Maureen is lying on her right side with two green wedge pillows behind her and white block pillow in between her leg. She will rest in bed for one hour starting at 11:28am.

• 12:28pm Maureen’s rest period is over. Her diaper is wet and she had a small, formed bowel movement. We cleaned up and put on a new diaper. We headed to the kitchen after.

• 12:45pm Lunchtime. Maureen will eat half of a turkey sandwich with homemade lentil soup, avocado mash, and a bottle of coconut water.

• 1:30pm Oral care.

• 1:40pm Visit with Jerry. 2:15pm We headed to the bedroom for a change. Maureen’s diaper is wet - we cleaned and put on a new diaper. We headed to the bathroom after.

• 2:30pm Sister Roberta is here for Maureen’s scheduled treatment.

• 3:30pm Fruit snack time.
