Saturday August 5, 2023 Daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen has her eyes slightly open. Marie tells me she’s been in and out of sleep since she got here.

• 8:30am Maureen’s awake. Raised the bed head and administered Levothyroxine with apple sauce.

• 8:35am Took Maureen’s BP, but couldn’t get an accurate result at the moment, we’ll check again later.

• 8:40am Marie and I changed and cleaned a md wet diaper and applied Cavilon barrier and cream. We gave Maureen a full body bath using warmed purple wipes and aloe vesta. A redness under her right armpit was observed. After consulting with Tom, Hydrocortisone was applied. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 9:00am Blood pressure is 119/95.

• 9:05am Maureen’s enjoying an oatmea/fruit smoothie and 6oz prune juice with 1/4 cap of Miralax for breakfast. She coughed three times and was able to bring out some phlegm.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch for Maureen’s comfort.

• Daily Miralax dosage: 1/4 cap.

• 9:40am Saline Neb treatment done.

• 9:50am Oral care and facial routine performed.

• Maureen couple of smiles made our day!

• 10:30am Maureen’s snoozing in the chair.

• 11:00am Transferred Maureen to bed for her first break. Changed and cleaned a md wet diaper and positioned on her right side at 11:15am.

• 12:10pm First break ends. Diaper was dry; dressed and continued to wash Maureen’s hair with ketoconazole shampoo then headed to the kitchen.

• 12:25pm Blow dry and styled Maureen’s hair.

• 12:40pm Reclined Geri chair one notch to feed Maureen, she was leaning forward. Lunch: vegetales soup, tuna salad, sliced beets, a cup of water and Greek yogurt for dessert. Maureen coughed twice during lunch.

• 1:15pm Maureen finished drinking her first cup of water.

• Today Maureen is smiley and said a few words even though she seems tired and sleepy.

• 2:00pm Transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second break. Changed and cleaned a md wet diaper and positioned on her Lt side at 2:15pm.

• 3:15pm Second break ends. Changed and cleaned a md wet diaper, dressed and headed Maureen to the front room.

• 3:35pm Blood pressure is 139/112.

• 3:45pm Maureen’s enjoying her fruit snack ( melons, pear and kiwi).

Even though Maureen’s energy level has been low today, she verbalized a few words and brought us happiness with her beautiful smiles.
