Saturday August 12, 2023 Daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen’s awake, she lies on her left side.

• 8:20am Maureen’s fully awake, we raised the bed head and administered Levothyroxine with apple sauce. Couldn’t get an accurate BP measurement , we’ll take it when she’s up.

• 8:30am Marrie and I started the day changing and cleaning a md wet diaper and applied Cavilon barrier and cream, then performed a full body bath using warmed purple wipes and aloe vesta. No new redness observed, the previous ones are still visible, applied hydro cortisone. Dressed and headed Maureen to the kitchen.

• 8:50am Blood pressure is 103/68.

• 8:55am Maureen is enjoying an oatmeal/fruit smoothie, 8oz prune juice with 1/4 cap of Miralax, and Greek yogurt for breakfast. She coughed once during breakfast.

• 9:15am Administered metoprolol and loratadine.

• Daily Miralax dosage: 1/4 cap.

• 9:20am Oral care.

• 9:25am Saline Neb treatment.

• 9:35am Facial routine.

• 10:10am We go with Maureen for a stroll around the neighborhood which we all enjoyed.

• 11:00am Transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first break. Changed and cleaned a md wet diaper and a large-loose bowel movement. Positioned on her right side, break #1 starts at 11:15am. Maureen fell asleep right after lying on her side.

• 12:20pm Maureen opened her eyes and slowly started twitching, her eyes opened big but blinking, hands closed tightly. Within three minutes, pulse wen up to 122 and immediately down between 117-120 staying there for another six minutes. After that it went down the low 100s then 90s for about seven more minutes. During this time she was hyperventilating.

• 12:50 Maureen is calm now. Diaper was dry, dressed and continue to wash Maureen‘s hair with ketoconazole shampoo.

• 1:05pm Blow dry and styled Maureen’s hair.

• 1:20pm Lunch: chicken soup, tuna salad with beets, a cup of lemon water and Greek yogurt for dessert. Maureen coughed once, sneezed twice and her nose was runny.

• 1:50pm Oral care.

• 2:00pm Blood pressure is 127/86. We got the error sign earlier.

• Maureen almost finished a cup of water with lunch but refused anymore after.

• 2:30pm Headed Maureen to the bedroom for her second break. Changed and cleaned a heavy wet diaper and positioned on her Lt side at 2:45pm.

• 3:35pm Second break ends. Diaper was dry ; dressed and transferred Maureen to the front room.

• 3:50pm Maureen’s enjoying her fruit snack, melons.

Daytime summary

Despite having an episode, Maureen had a good day. Her energy was there waking up with fully opened eyes and during meals. She stayed awake and alert after lunch, during break, and is enjoying her fruit snack.
