Saturday 9/21/24 Daytime summary

Maureen woke up around 6:30, a bit startled, a bit anxious … I laid down with her and she calmly went back to sleep within 10 minutes.

7:30am Off and on rest periods, continue.

8:40am Maureen is starting to rustle around … nope, nodding off again.

9:00am we raised the bed and administered the thyroid pill with a little applesauce.

9:15am the bed was lowered so we can clean and change from a dry diaper, there was minimal amount of cloudy discharge that Marie wiped away.

The usual morning routine plus the nystatin was applied, after dressing, we transferred to the wheelchair for breakfast.

9:45am breakfast time has arrived, 8oz of prune juice and a delicious breakfast smoothie, followed by 2 senna plus with some applesauce and of course, a full container of ACTIVIA yogurt.

10:40am cleanup and oral care, followed by preparing to take a little walk.

10:55am we are out the door for a walk in the neighborhood

11:35am we are back from our walk, the sun is as really starting to heat up … so we are cooling down in the kitchen, Maureen has drank almost 1/2 cup of water with lemon. Marie wiped Maureen’s face and arms with a cool washcloth and then does her facial care.

We’ll be going the bedroom for the first break, soon.

11:45am we transferred to the bedroom for the first break, Maureen was dry, so we put her on her right side and propped her up with the wedge pillows.

1:00pm we gave her some extra time because she has remained dry …

1:15pm ATI dry, even after exercising her legs, light tummy massage, nothing worked … remains dry.

1:30pm we transferred to kitchen for lunch, soup, chicken salad potato salad, water with lemon, and cranberry juice too.

2:15pm cleanup and oral care done … another 1/4 cup of water drank.

2:40pm we transferred to the bedroom, hoping for a wet diaper … STILL DRY, at this point I am thinking that it may hurt too much to go, I don’t know.

2:45pm we laid her on her left side for the afternoon break.

3:40pm Medium sized hard BM accompanied a heavy wet diaper … FINALLY! We cleaned, changed and got dressed, transferred to the front room for kiwi, pear and watermelon, the perfect sidekick to watching some game shows.
