7:50 am Maureen is awake, making the hiccup sounds and a bit wide eyed. I put the pulse oximeter on her finger and holding her other hand. Oxygen is at 96 and pulse rate is 72.
Slight flinching accompanied the hiccup sounds, this lasted about 25 minutes, her pulse never raised above 76 and oxygen level never got below 94.
Now calmer yet, she’s receptive to some swabs of water, and may nap a little longer.
This entire “episode” lasted about 35 minutes.
8:30 As anticipated, Maureen has fallen asleep.
9:00 and 9:30, still asleep
10:00 Maureen’s eyes are open and we will start our day. Marie administered the LEVOTHYROXINE with a couple spoons of applesauce, we followed that up with an albuterol treatment.
10:45 After changing a medium wet diaper, applying Cavilon lotion, Sure-prep barrier film, bed bath and dressing are done with, we transferred to the front room.
A little jumpiness has returned …
11:00 Marie prepares scrambled egg with tomato and onion to go along with some pear,
8 ounces of prune juice and 11 ounces of water with lemon.
NO MIRALAX WAS GIVEN TODAY.
12:00 pm breakfast service is finished, including the swabs of water before breakfast, approximately 21 ounces of liquid have been consumed so far.
12:15 pm oral care, clean up and facial care are performed by Marie. We will transfer to the bedroom for the first break in just a little bit.
1:00 pm. Maureen closed her eyes for a rest so we waited until now to go for rest break.
We changed from a heavy wet diaper and propped her up on her right side.
2:00 pm The first rest break is over, Maureen is dry, we got her dressed and transferred to the front room for some lunch.
Marie has prepared some tuna salad, beets and spinach soup … she poured 11 ounces of sparkling water to accompany lunch.
3:15 pm lunch is done, oral care and clean up have been completed. We will go for the second rest break in about ten minutes.
