6:40AM - Maureen is sleeping for the most part. She stirs form time to time. Maya noted based on the color change in the line on the diaper that she was wet,
Our day officially began @ 8:07AM. Maureen was a bit groggy this morning. Her pull up was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her with 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleaning Spray. She the applied 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all skin areas regularly exposed to feces and urine. Finally, Maya applied a new layer of 3M Cavilon No-Sting Barrier Film to the entire pressure ulcer area.
Breakfast service began @ 8:40AM. First, Maya gave Maureen the thyroid medication. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is good. As usual, we used both green wedge pillows to ensure she was sitting completely erect. Coughing was more prevalent this morning: 4-5 times. None of them were of the phlegmy variety.
Pressure Ulcer Area Update> Maya and I feel the area continue to heal nicely. We are definitely trending in a great direction. The entire area, except for one spot, is returning to normal. There are no red/irritated areas that we can see at this point. See attached images taken this morning.
Daily MIRAlax dosage: 1/2 packet
9:02AM - Blood pressure pill and baby aspirin administered.
9:09AM - Oral care routine
9:35AM - Eyelash cleansing with Johnson's Baby Shampoo and warm water. Maya also placed drops in Maureen's eyes.
GENERAL OBSERVATION> Maureen is much more tired/sleepy than normal today. She has nodded off for somewhat extended periods of time on at least three occasions since we got her out of bed.
11:06AM - We took Maureen to the bedroom for a clean and change and for the 1st 1 hour installment of lying on her left side to relieve the pressure on her sacrum. She had a soft, bordering on loose, small bowel movement. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen using green medicated Medline wipes and the Aloe Vesta Foam Soap. After the bowel movement, Maureen urinated. We cleaned her up again.
11:20AM - Maya and I placed Maureen on her left side for the 1st one our segment of lying on her side.
12:20PM - We initiated the get out of bed process. Just prior to putting Maureen in the sling, she urinated in her pull up. We did a clean/change and headed to the kitchen for lunch.
12:45PM - Lunch | 1/2 a turkey and Swiss cheese with mayonnaise on toasted whole wheat, 1/4 sliced tomato, a small helping of mango salad and 1/2 a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Maureen also drank 1 12 ounce bottle of coconut water.
General Observation @ 1:05PM> Maureen continues to be very lethargic/sleepy.
1:30PM - Maya put fresh linens on the bed.
1:50PM - We took Maureen to the bedroom for the second 1 hour segment on her side to relieve pressure on her sacrum.
2:00PM - Maureen is on her right side. She will remain this way for the next hour. Maya is sitting with her.
3:00PM - We started the process of getting Maureen out of bed for the remainder of the day. Maureen had a medium soft bowel movement in her pull up while she was lying down. Maya cleaned her throughly. We got dressed and headed to the lift recliner in the front room.
3:40PM - Fruit snack time.
