6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping soundly. He diaper is dry.
7:15AM - Maureen continues to sleep for the most part. She is beginning to stir a bit.
Our day officially began @ 8:15AM. Maureen is in good spirits. Her diaper was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen with 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleansing Spray. She also applied 3M Cavilon Barrier Cream to all appropriate areas that are continually exposed to feces and/or urine. Finally, Maya applied a layer of 3M Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film to the entire pressure ulcer area. Lastly, the area directly under Maureen's left breast was a bit red. Maya applied a small amount of Nyastin Ointment to the area.
Pressure Ulcer Area Update> Both Maya and I were pleasantly surprised by what we saw this morning. We feel comfortable describing the wound as looking "significantly better." Wound color is definitely much better—much more pink than red. See the attached two images.
Breakfast service commenced @ 8:45AM. Maya administered the thyroid pill prior to getting started. Maureen's posture in the geri was good. We made a few adjustments with the green wedge pillows to perfect her posture. Maureen only coughed 2-3 times during breakfast. This is the norm.
Daily MIRAlax dosage: 1/2 packet
9:15AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication and the baby aspirin.
9:25AM - Complete oral care routine
9:40AM - Maya noted some sleep/gunk in Maureen's eyelashes. She cleaned all of the eyelashes with warm water and Johnson's Baby Shampoo.
10:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie time
11:15AM - We placed Maureen in bed for the first of two hours of bedrest to relieve stress on the pressure ulcer area. She will lay on her left side for this firs hour. Colleen is sitting with her.
12:15PM - It was time to get Maureen out of bed for lunch. Maya noted she had a small formed bowel movement. Colleen and Maya cleaned and changed Maureen. They placed Maureen in the geri chair using the Hoyer Lift. It was time to head off to the kitchen for lunch.
12:40PM - Lunch | 1/2 a turkey sandwich on toasted whole wheat with melted Swiss chess, 1/2 a bowl of homemade mushroom soup, 1 sliced peach and of course 12 ounces of Vietnamese goodness - Harmless Harvest Coconut Organic Coconut Water.
1:20PM - Afternoon oral care
1:55PM - We placed Maureen in bed on her right side for the second 1 hour installment of relief on her sacrum (pressure ulcer area).
We initiated the process of getting Maureen out of bed at 2:55. Her pull up was wet. Maya cleaned Maureen using 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleanse Spray. We put on a fresh pull up and headed to the lift recliner in the front room.
3:30PM - Afternoon fruit snack.
