  • 6:35AM - Maureen is awake. Her diaper is dry.

  • Maureen's day began @ 8:15AM. She is alert and engaged. Diaper is medium wet. We performed the clean and change and upper body wash processes.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:50AM. Maureen is sitting upright nicely in the geri chair. We inserted the green wedge pillows on each side of her for support. We decided to give Maureen the Manuka Honey first to see if it would have any impact on the frequency of coughing. Maya then immediately administered the thyroid medication. Maureen coughed only three times during breakfast. This is obviously a positive development. We will continue to give her the Manuka honey prior to the start of breakfast service to see if it makes a difference over a sustained period of time.

  • Maureen will consume approximately 4 ounces of prune juice today.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • 9:28AM - MAya administered the blood pressure medication.

  • 9:38AM - Morning oral care routine.

  • 9:50AM - Eyelash cleaning and eye drops.

  • 9:55AM - Morning facial treatment

  • 10:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie. Maureen coughed five times while consuming the smoothie—several were deep ones. This frequency is definitely more than normal.

  • 10:55AM - Rest period #1 approaches. We transported Maureen to the bedroom. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I performed a clean and change and then positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • 11:05AM - Rest period #1 begins. Maureen will rest on her left side for the next hour.

  • 12:05PM - Rest period #1 concludes. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen also had a small formed bowel movement. We performed a standard clean and change. Next, it was off to the kitchen for lunch.

  • 12:25PM - Lunch | 1/2 a turkey sandwich with mayonnaise and melted cheese on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowel of homemade chicken noodle soup, 1/4 of a sliced tomato and a small serving of green beans. Maureen also thoroughly enjoyed a 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. Maureen handles lunch well. She coughed only twice.

  • 1:08PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 1:55PM - Rest break #2 approaches. We headed to the bedroom. The diaper was medium wet. As Maya and I completed the initial cleaning process, Maureen had a small formed bowel movement and urinated again. We put a new pad underneath her and completed the change and clean process again. Lastly, we positioned Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:10PM - Maureen will rest on her right side for one hour to relieve the pressure off of her sacrum.

  • 3:10PM - Rest break # 2 concludes. Diaper is medium wet. We performed a clean and change and headed to the front room.

  • 3:30PM - Afternoon fruit snack
