  • 6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping. The moisture sensitive strip on the diaper indicates it is wet.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:10AM. She is in good form. Out of an abundance of caution, Maya checked the area underneath the left breast. It was slightly red. She cleaned the area thoroughly and applied a thin layer of Nystatin ointment. Maureen's diaper light wet. Maya and Colleen performed a standard clean and change process using the 3M Cavilon No-Rinse Cleansing Spray and Barrier Film. Maya wrapped up the process by applying a new layer of 3M Cavilon No-Sting Barrier Film to the pressure ulcer area.

  • Pressure ulcer area update> The area for all intents and purposes looks completely healed at this point. See the attached images.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:35AM. Posture in geri chair is good. Maureen is jovial this morning. She has smiled/laughed several times. Maya got things going by administering the thyroid medication. Maureen coughed fairly hard 4-5 times during breakfast this morning. This is greater than the typical daily average of 3.

  • 9:07AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication.

  • 9:14AM - Morning oral care session - Maya closely examined the upper right gum area around the implant. It is much improved—far less red/more pink.

  • 9:25AM - Maya cleaned Maureen's eyelashes with Johnson's Baby Shampoo and warm water. She concluded by putting drops in her eyes.

  • 10:30AM - Is that a bird? No. Is it a plane? No. It is an organic fruit smoothie crafted with care by Maya.

  • 10:50AM - Maya and Colleen began the process of taking Maureen into the bedroom for the first of two one-hour breaks to relieve the pressure on her sacrum. Her diaper was dry. They did not have to change it.

  • 11:05AM - Maureen is now positioned on her left side for the next hour.

  • 12:05PM - Rest period concludes. Colleen and Maya proceeded to do a standard clean and change. Maureen has a medium wet diaper and had a small formed bowel movement.

  • 12:30PM - Lunch | 1/2 turkey sandwich with cheese and a small amount of mayo on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of homemade onion soup and a serving of butternut squash with cranberries and onions. Maureen also consumed 1 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. Maureen coughed 3-4 times during lunch. This is a bit greater than normal but not totally out of the ordinary.

  • 1:10PM - Afternoon oral care begins

  • 1:50PM - Time for the second one hour rest break. Colleen and Maya took Maureen to the bedroom. The diaper was medium wet. After completing a standard clean and change, Colleen and Maya positioned Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:12PM - Maureen is now resting on her right side. She will remain in this position for the next hour.

  • 3:10PM - Second rest break concludes. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I performed a standard clean and change. We headed to the front room.

  • 3:25PM - Maureen is now sitting comfortably in the lift recliner. She just started watching today's episode of TPIR—waiting patiently for the Fruit Lady.

  • 3:33PM - Afternoon fruit snack. Ron Burgundy said it best when he sang "Afternoon Delight."
