Monday June 24, 2014 Daytime update

  • 8:00am Maureen’s awake, lying on her left with Tom by her bedside giving her sips of water. He tells, Maureen woke up with slight twitching that lasted 10-12 minutes, around 6:45am and has been in and out of sleep since.

  • 8:30am Maureen’s awake, we raised the bed to administer 75mcg Levothyroxine with 8 sauce.

  • 8:40am Tom and I started our day giving Maureen an upper body bath using warmed purple wipes, no redness observed. Diaper is dry, dressed and headed to the kitchen.

  • 9:00am Breakfast: Fresh pear/mandarin, cup of lemon water and oatmeal/fruit smoothie with a spoonful of yogurt. Coughed once, suction pump used.

  • 9:30 Administered 10mg Loratadine with smoothie.

  • Daily miralax dosage: None

  • Reclined Geri chair one notch for comfort.

  • 9:40am Oral care.

  • 9:50am Eyes wash/drops and facial routine performed.

  • 10:00am Taking advantage of the nice weather, we take Maureen out for a walk around the neighborhood. She stayed alert the whole way.

  • 11:00am Maureen had half cup of lemon water.

  • 11:30am Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s first resting break. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, applied Cavilon barrier film to sacrum and barrier cream to inner thighs are, then positioned on her right side.

  • 12:30pm First break ends. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, dressed and headed to the kitchen.

  • 12:45pm Lunch: Artichokes soup, shrimp salad with fresh tomatoes, full cup of sparkling water and yogurt with chocolate chips cookie. Maureen coughed twice and had sneezing/red face episode, suction pump used once.

  • Reclined Geri chair one notch during meal, Maureen was leaning forward.

  • 1:30pm Oral care.

  • 2:00pm Maureen’s sitting with relaxed hands and awake while listening to her playlist.

  • Maureen had half cup of lemon water.

  • 2:30pm Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s second resting break. Clean/change a heavy wet diaper and positioned on her left side.

  • 3:30pm Second break ends. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, dressed and headed to the living area.

  • 3:45pm Blood pressure: 106/68.

  • 3:50pm Maureen’s enjoying her fruit snack (melon/pear/kiwi), and 3/4 cup of ginger tea.
