6:30AM - Maureen is awake. Maya will give her sips of water from a mouth swab between now and the time she starts her day.
6:40AM - Maya checked the diaper. It is now wet.
Maureen began her day @ 8:10AM. She is very chipper and chatty this morning. Diapers medium wet. Wednesday is bed bath day. Maya began by cleaning Maureen's feet with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and warm wipes from the purple packet. Upon completion, she wipes Maureen with one of the colored soft cloths. Next up, we apply Tolcylen to both big toenails. After that, Maya and I performed a clean & change using all three 3M Cavilon products where appropriate. There was no redness/irritation anywhere on Maureen's body. We then proceeded to complete cleaning all other parts of Maureen's body with the same process articulated previously in this section.
Breakfast service rolled out at 9:08AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good—as usual there is a bit of a tilt forward and to the left. Maya began with a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the administration of the thyroid pill with a small amount of applesauce.
General observations @ 9:23AM> Maureen is in good form this morning. Energy and engagement are at or above normal levels. Congestion is greater than normal. It came on rather quickly—almost out of the blue. She is sneezing quite often this morning—5 to 6 times as of right now. The sneezing is also causing an abnormally high number of coughs.
Maureen will consume 6 ounces of prune juice this morning. The added two ounces are due to the fact that she has had only one very small formed BM in the last 1.5 days.
Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/2 cap
9:45AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication and the Claritin pill with a very small amount of applesauce.
General observation @ 10:00AM> Maureen has begun to lose energy. She has just fallen asleep.
10:01AM - Morning oral care routine
10:10AM - We tilted the geri chair back one notch to relieve the stress off of Maureen's back and to make her more comfortable.
10:15AM - Morning facial treatment including hands and arms.
10:58AM - It was time to prepare for Rest Break #1. We headed to the bedroom. Diaper was light wet. Maya and I completed a clean & change and positioned Maureen on her right side.
11:13AM - Rest Break #1 concludes.
12:35PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen has a medium size formed bowel movement. Maya and I performed a clean & change and got Maureen prepped to have her hair shampooed.
1:00PM - We headed to kitchen where Maya dried and styled Maureen's hair with hair dryer.
1:13PM - Lunch | Maya prepared Chesapeake Bay shrimp salad, 1/2 a bowl of meatball and rice soup and a serving of Brussels sprouts. Maureen will drink one 12-ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water.
General observations @ 1:40PM> Maureen did not have a good deal of energy during lunch. She had a fair amount of difficulty chewing and swallowing—coughed approximately 13 times. Her eyes were also closed most of the time during lunch service.
2:27PM - Afternoon oral care
3:00PM - We took Maureen to the bedroom for a clean & change. Diaper was medium wet. Upon completion, it was off to the front room for the remainder of the afternoon.
3:22PM - Afternoon fruit snack.
