  • 6:35AM - Maureen is sound asleep—not moving at all.

  • 7:35AM - Maureen continues to be in a deep sleep.

  • 8:35AM - She is still sleeping peacefully.

  • Our day officially began @ 9:16AM. Maureen is in good spirts. Her diaper was wet. Maya cleaned her thoroughly with the warm wipes in the purple packet and put on a fresh pull up. We noted no red marks on Maureen's posterior during the entire change process.

  • Breakfast service began at 9:31AM. Maureen was tilting slightly to the left in the chair but upright. Maya inserted a green wedge pillow to adjust her posture.

  • Maureen will consume 1/2 a glass of prune juice this morning.

  • No coughing during breakfast.

  • 9:49AM - Morning medications administered—blood pressure and baby aspirin.

  • 10:16AM - Maureen's energy is beginning to dissipate. Brow is beginning to furrow. and frown is starting to form on her face. She remains seated upright in the day chair with the assistance of a green wedge pillow.

  • 10:39AM - Maureen has started to drool occasionally.

  • 11:05AM - We took Maureen to the front room to place her in the lift recliner. She had been sitting in the day chair for a little less than two hours. Maya checked Maureen's pull up before we headed to the front room. It was dry.

  • 11:10AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.

  • 12:35PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was damp. We proceeded to the bathroom. We waited 15 minutes. There was no additional activity—bladder or bowel. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen and noted no red marks. She put on a new pull up.

  • 1:00PM - Lunch. Today, Maureen had homemade mushroom soup, 1/2 a turkey sandwich with cheese and a medley of cauliflower and brussel sprouts.

  • Maureen is slumping forward rather significantly during the lunch service.

  • 1:35PM - Maureen's new nurse from NorthShore, Val Diaz, visited the house. She will be at the house at least once a week for the next four weeks. Val will be on vacation the week after next. One of her colleagues will fill in for her that week. Maya and I gave Val a detailed overview of what we do and how we do it. Val was extremely impressed with everything we as a group are doing to care for Maureen. Her BP was 132/72. Oxygen was 93. Heart rate was 75.

  • 3:45PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We once again headed to the bathroom in the hope that Maureen would move her bowel. She did not have a bowel movement but did urinate a good amount into the toilet. The urine was slightly cloudy. Maya thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put on a fresh pull up.
