Sunday, December 7 Daytime update

  • 8:00 am - Maureen is awake, accepting water sips via swab.

  • 8:30 am- We raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.

  • 8:40 am- We started the day. Maureen’s diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Applied Sureprep barrier film on sacrum and Cavilon cream on inner tights. Then we washed Maureen’s upper body. No redness on skin observed. Dressed and transferred Maureen to the recliner.

  • 9:00 am - Nebulizer treatment with saline solution.

  • 9:15 am- Maureen had 10 oz of lemon water.

  • 9:20 am- Breakfast- omelette, piece of cut apple, 10 oz of electrolyte water. Maureen coughed twice.

  • 10:00 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.

  • 10:05 am- Morning oral care.

  • 10:10 am- Facial and hand care routine.

  • 10:45 am- Deacon Andy came in for regular Sunday service.

  • 11:00 am- Maureen is relaxing in the recliner, closing her eyes from time to time.

  • 11:30 am- After Maureen’s 10 minutes nap we transferred her to the bedroom for her first rest break. Her diaper was medium wet. We cleaned and changed her. Maureen will lie down on her right side for 30 minutes starting at 11:45 am.

  • 12:15 pm- Maureen’s first rest break ended. Her diaper was dry. We dressed her and headed to the front room.

  • 12:30 pm- Lunch- tomato soup, half of grilled ham and cheese sandwich, 10 oz of coconut water, some chocolate mint milkshake. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 1:10 pm- Oral care.

  • 1:15 pm- Maureen is resting in the recliner, listening to Christmas music.

  • 2:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Positioned Maureen on her right side at 2:45 pm.

  • 3:15 pm- Maureen’s second rest break is over now. Her diaper was medium wet. We cleaned and changed her. Dressed and transferred to the recliner.

  • 3:45 pm- Fresh melon and pear for snack. Maureen coughed twice.

  • 4:15 pm- Maureen had 10 oz cup of sparkling water.

  • 4:40 pm- Second Nebulizer treatment with Saline solution.

  • 5:00 pm- Dinner- Fish from Portillo’s , 10 oz of lemon water. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 5:50 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 6:15 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream. Cleaned/ wiped her face and applied Cetaphil lotion on her face, hands, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side.

    P- 69

  • Maureen consumed 50 oz of liquids today. She was very alert throughout the day, ate very well, gave us a couple of smiles.
