July 8 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping peacefully.

• 7:13AM - She is starting to stir a bit—continues to sleep

• 8:20AM - Our day has begun. Maureen is in good form. She is alert and engaged for the most part. Her diaper was wet. Maya throughly cleaned Maureen using warmed wipes from the purple packet and then put on a fresh pull up and new pair of shorts. No red marks noted.

• Breakfast service began at 8:41AM. Maureen was tilting hard to the right from the moment we placed her in the day chair. We had to insert a green wedge pillow into the day chair immediately. Forward slump is somewhat material at this point. Maureen's head is down 7-10 degrees. Maya has to occasionally prop her head up to feed her properly.

• 8:42AM - Maya administered the thyroid pill.

• We tried the small version of the Posey this morning. The waist belt portion of the device is just large enough. The shoulder straps are taught. Maya and I continue to be of the opinion that this device is of little or no use.

• Maureen will consume 1/2 a glass of prune juice this morning.

• Nose is a bit runny this morning. We will not administer Flonase.

• Coughing during breakfast was minimal—one to two times at most.

• 8:54AM - Round 2 of morning medications administered - blood pressure and baby aspirin.

• Red Right Eye Update> The lower portion of the right eye socket is a little less red this morning. No redness is present in the white portion of the eyeball. There is no sleep/gunk in Maureen's eyelashes this morning. Maya cleaned the eyelashes in both eyes with warm water and a little baby shampoo. She also put over the counter drops in both eyes.

• Maureen's posture in the chair is somewhat improved from yesterday at this time. Maya is attempting to do some of the morning exercises while Maureen is in the day chair.

• 9:33AM - Forward slump continues.

• 9:38AM - Brow is beginning to furrow. Partial frown is now on Maureen's face.

• 9:50AM - Organic fruit smoothie time.

• 11:20AM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We decided to go to the bedroom to clean and change Maureen since she had a large bowel movement last night @ 6:00PM. She had a medium size firm bowel movement in bed while we were cleaning/changing her. While cleaning, we did not observe any red marks.

• 12:30PM - Pasta Thursday - Maureen enjoyed some salad with avocado and balsamic vinaigrette dressing and linguine with marinara sauce.

• 1:45PM - In advance of the matinee performance of the legendary hairstylists known as KAMA (Kathy and Maya), we took Maureen to the bathroom because her pull up was wet. Maureen had a small bowel movement in the toilet—no additional urination.

• 2:00PM - The dynamic duo KAMA, who have not appeared on stage in Niles since the halcyon days of Mill Run Theatre, came to the house to shampoo and style Maureen's hair. It was another bravura performance. Let's hope they come back again soon.

• 3:45PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was wet. We decided to take Maureen to the bedroom for cleaning/changing. She had a small bowel movement in bed. Maya thoroughly cleaned her and put on a fresh pull up. There were no red spots noted. We returned Maureen to the front room.
