6:40AM - Maureen is sleeping soundly. Her pull up is damp.
7:30AM - Maureen continues to sleep. We have chosen not to disturb her.
8:20AM - Situation remains the same - deep sleep.
8:45AM - She is starting to stir lightly and chat with herself a bit.
Our day officially began at 8:50AM. Maureen is in good form. She was a bit groggy. Her pull up was wet. Maya thoroughly cleaned her using the warmed wipes in the purple packets. There are no red marks on Maureen's posterior.
Breakfast service began @ 9:17AM. Maya administered the thyroid pill just prior to the start of breakfast service. We placed Maureen in the new Drive Medical geri chair. Maureen began to list to the left. Maya inserted a green wedge pillow into the geri chair.
Maureen will consume 1/2 cup of undiluted prune juice this morning.
At the start of breakfast, Maya and I decided to recline the back of the geri chair one notch—doing so also extends the footrest up one level. Maureen's head is back further but still not all the way to the headrest. Her head is in a safe position to eat and drink. We also placed a wedge pillow on each side of Maureen and the waffle cushion on the seat. Overall, Maureen looks extremely comfortable. We are so relieved that she is not slumping forward. See the attached image.

9:33AM - Maya administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.
Coughing was almost nonexistent during breakfast—once or twice at most.
Maya did not have to push Maureen's shoulders and/or head back at all during the entire morning routine. There was no drooling either.
RED RIGHT EYE UPDATE> The lower portion of the right eye socket is almost back to normal. There is no sleep/gunk in the eyelashes for both eyes. Maya washed all of the eyelashes with warm water and a bit of Johnson's baby shampoo. She will also place drops into both eyes. We are getting to the point where it will no longer be necessary to wash the eyelashes and administer the eye drops.
Maureen's RN Carolyn came to the house @ 10:05AM. Nothing out of the ordinary occurred. Carolyn was able to listen to Maureen's lungs. She said it was very good. Key vitals/stats are as follows: Heart rate - 89, BP - 140/84 and Oxygen level - 95. The next RN appointment will be next week with Valerie.
10:55AM - We remain in the kitchen. Kathy will arrive soon to shampoo and style Maureen's hair. Maureen was so comfortable in the nee geri chair she fell took a brief nap.
11:20AM - In advance of Kathy's arrival, Maya checked the pull up. It was wet. Since Maureen was in the new geri chair, we decided to move the commode into the dining room. See the attached image for how we positioned the commode. After about 5-7 minutes, Maureen had a large firm bowel movement and urinated in the commode. For the transfer to the commode, we placed the geri chair to the right of it. When making the transfer back to the geri chair, I positioned myself on the left side of the commode. I lifted Maureen up with Maya's assistance and in the process turned to my right and leaned against the wall. Maya cleaned Maureen and got her dressed. She then rolled the geri chair towards me. We placed Maureen in it. Since the geri chair is much deeper than the day chair, Maureen was not properly positioned. Maya and I laid the geri chair flat and adjusted Maureen so that her back was against the back of the chair.

12:40PM - Lunch - Maya served homemade chicken noodle soup, 1/2 a sliced tomato and 1/2 a ham sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread.
1:45PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was dry.
2:15PM - Kathy arrived. She and her fellow partner in crime Maya shampooed and styled Maureen's hair. The dynamic duo of KAMA did not disappoint. Maureen looks like a million dollars.
2:35PM - Maya checked Maureen's pull up. It was dry.
2:45PM - Fruit snack time. Nothing better after a trip to the beauty salon.
3:35PM - Maya determined the pull up was wet. We headed to the bedroom for a standard clean and change. No red marks on posterior noted.
