January 6 daytime update

• Happy Birthday Kathy!

• Maureen has been awake since 6:30AM.

• 6:40AM - Maya checked the diaper. It is dry.

• 7:10AM - Maya checked the diaper again. It is now wet.

• We will administer a dose of Robitussin cough syrup this morning.

• Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is pretty chipper this morning. Maureen looked rather parched. We tilted the bed to 90 degrees to give her some sips of water. She looks so appreciative when we do this. Makes us feel great. Diaper is medium wet. We began with a clean & change—using all three 3M Cavilon products where appropriate. Maya cleaned all of the upper body areas of focus with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam. They look great. None require the application of Nystatin Ointment.

• Breakfast service commenced @ 8:45AM. Posture in the geri chair is very good. Maya began with a teaspoon of Manuka honey followed immediately by the administration of the thyroid medication.

• Maureen will consume approximately 6 ounces of prune juice today.

• Daily MiraLAX dosage: 1/4 cap

• MiraLAX dosage and additional prune juice are intended to address the hard bowel movements Maureen has had during the last few days.

• 9:10AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication

• 9:12AM - Maya gave Maureen a dose of Robitussin cough syrup

• 9:22AM - Morning oral care

• 9:40AM - Eyelash cleaning

• 9:48AM - Morning facial treatment

• 10:04AM - Hand, arm, shoulder and leg exercises

• 10:43AM - Organic fruit smoothie

• 10:57AM - Time to prepare for Rest Break #1. We headed to the bedroom. Diaper is medium wet. Maureen had a very small soft bowel movement. Upon completion of the clean and change, we positioned Maureen on her left side.

• 11:12AM - Rest Break #1 begins. Maureen will lay on her left side for approximately 60 minutes.

• 12:12PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is dry. We got Maureen dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 12:25PM - Lunch | Shrimp salad and 1/2 a bowl of homemade green pea and chicken soup. Maureen drank one 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. For desert, Maureen will enjoy a small serving of rice pudding. Maureen coughed three times during lunch.

• 1:15PM - Afternoon oral care

• 1:53PM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #3. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen also had a very small soft bowel movement. After completing the clean & change, we set Maureen up on her right side.

• 2:00PM - Maureen's nurse Julie from JourneyCare arrived at the house for her weekly visit. Click here to read a summary of the visit and the discussion we had on a number of different topics.

• 3:10PM - Rest Break # 2 concludes. The diaper was medium wet. After completing the clean & change, we headed to the front room for the remainder of the day.

• 3:35PM - Afternoon fruit snack. Maureen coughed twice.
