May 13 daytime update

• 7:00am Maureen is in and out of sleep. Maya is giving Maureen sips of water using the pink swabs.

• 7:30am Maureen is still more awake. Diaper is wet.

• 8:00am Our morning begins. We washed the inner folds of Maureen’s skin. We saw some redness under Maureen’s waist so we applied a thin layer of Nystatin to the area. Diaper is medium wet - we cleaned, applied 3M products, and changed. We dressed, transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift, and headed to the kitchen.

• Maureen shows little signs of congestion this morning so we opted not to give her a nebulizer treatment.

• 8:30am Spoonful of Manuka honey followed by thyroid pill with applesauce.

• 8:34am Breakfast - banana, oatmeal, 4 oz prune juice and a cup of water.

• 8:53am Administered thyroid pill and Claritin with applesauce.

• 8:55am Oral care.

• 9:02am Administered a dose of Flonase in each nostril.

• 9:10am Morning facial routine.

• 9:15am Visit with Carolyn.

• 10:30am Fruit smoothie.

• We brought Maureen’s Geri chair down one notch.

• 11:15am We headed to the bedroom for the only rest period today due to Maureen’s afternoon session with Sister Roberta. Diaper is medium wet - we cleaned and changed. Maureen will lie on her right side starting at 11:30am.

• 1:00pm Maureen’s only rest period for the day ends. Diaper is medium wet - we cleaned, applied Cavilon barrier cream, and changed. We transferred Maureen to the Geri chair using the Hoyer lift and headed to the kitchen.

• 1:16pm Lunch - lentil soup, salmon with vegetables and a bottle of organic coconut water.

• 1:54pm Oral care.

• 3:00pm We headed to the bedroom. Maureen’s diaper is heavy wet - we cleaned and changed. We decided to stay in bed with Maureen sitting up 90°.

• 3:15pm Fruit snack.
