Friday August 16, 2024 Daytime update

• 8:00am Maureen is sleepy with Tom by her bedside. She’s receptive to sips of water via swab.

• 8:25am Maureen’s awake. We raised the bed to administer 75mcg levothyroxine with apple sauce.

• 8:35am Merianne and I started our day giving Maureen an upper body bath, no redness observed. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, applied Cavilon barrier film to sacrum, barrier cream to inner thighs area. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• 8:55am Breakfast starts with half ripe banana and a cup of lemon water, followed by an oatmeal/fruit smoothie and toast with butter and jam. Coughed three times and had a sneezing/red face episode, suction pump used twice.

• 9:20am Administered 10mg Loratadine with smoothie.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch during meal, Maureen was leaning forward.

• No Metamucil

• 9:35am Oral care.

• 9:45am Facial routine performed.

• 10:55am Blood pressure: 110/63, P 77.

• 10:00am We decided to treat Maureen with saline Neb therapy, she sounds a bit congested.

• 10:30am After reclining Gerri chair to the second , Maureen relaxed her head backwards and closed her eyes. At the end, she napped for about 35 minutes, had half cup of lemon water afterwards.

• 11:30am Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s first resting break. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, positioned on her right side.

• 12:30pm First break ends. Diaper it’s dry, dressed and headed to the kitchen.

• Reclined Geri chair one notch for comfort.

• 12:45pm Lunch: Grilled ham and cheese sandwich, fresh tomato, full cup of root beer and mandarin for dessert. Coughed three, sneezing one and Maureen’s nose was running. Suction pump used twice.

• 1:35pm Oral care.

• Maureen is in good spirits. She’s been chatty and eating her meals with enthusiasm.

• Maureen took a 25 minutes nap after lunch.

• 2:30pm Transferred to the bedroom for Maureen’s second resting break. Clean/change a medium wet diaper, positioned on her left side.

• 3:30pm Second break ends. Diaper it’s dry, dressed and headed to the living area.

• 3:45pm Maureen is enjoying her fruit snack (apple/banana) with 3/4 cup of lemon water.
