6:30AM - Maureen is awake. Her diaper is dry. We will give Maureen small amounts of cool water using a swab between now and the time she starts her day.
7:20AM - Maureen remains awake. She is chatting occasionally.
Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is in good spirits this morning. Maya got things rolling by applying Tolcylen to both big toenails. Her diaper is medium wet. We completed a clean and change using all three 3M Cavilon products where appropriate. The last stage of our morning routine was to clean are ares of focus of Maureen's upper body with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam.
Breakfast service commenced @ 8:43AM. Posture in the geri chair is good. Her eyes are wide open. She is engaged and chatty. Maureen is tilting to the left and forward a bit. We using both green wedge pillows and Magic Mike to perfect her posture. Maya gave Maureen a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the thyroid medication administered with a smattering of applesauce.
Maureen will consume approximately 4 ounces of prune juice this morning.

General observations @ 9:04AM> Maureen appears less congested this morning. She was able on two occasions to cough and expel a decent amount of phlegm from her mouth with Maya's assistance. To this point in the day, Maureen has not utter the low moan/groan.
9:07AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication with a small amount of applesauce.
9:09AM - Maya administered a dose of Guaifenesin expectorant cough syrup.
9:11AM - Maya administered a dose of Arm & Hammer Saline Nasal Mist in Maureen's nose.
9:15AM - Morning oral care routine
9:28AM - We tilted back the geri chair one level to alter Maureen's posture and reduce pressure on her lower back. This is a practice Maya and I have been using for quite some time.
9:29AM - Eyelash cleaning and eye drops.
9:38AM - Low moan/groan begins. It is not consonant but we do hear it quite frequently.
9:40AM - Morning facial routine
9:50AM - Arm, hand, shoulder and leg exercises.
10:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie
10:53AM - It was time to prepare for Rest Break #1. We headed to the bedroom where Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then positioned Maureen on her right side.
11:07AM - Rest Break #1 begins
12:30PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. We extend it to almost 90 minutes because Sr. Roberta will be here at 2:30PM. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I completed and clean & change and got Maureen out to the kitchen for lunch.
12:44PM - Lunch | Maya prepared 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread, 1/2 a bowl of homemade lentil soup and a serving of green beans. Maureen will drink one 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water. Dessert will consist of what is left of the rice pudding.
1:10PM - Maya administered a dose of Guaifenesin expectorant cough syrup.
1:12PM - Maya administered a dose of Arm & Hammer Saline Nasal Mist in Maureen's nose.
1:46PM - Afternoon oral care
2:10PM Vital signs: Heart: 72, Oxygen: 96 and Temperature: 98.4.
2:15PM - We took Maureen to the bedroom for a clean & change. Diaper was medium wet. Once finished, we headed to the front room. Maureen has a 2:30PM appointment with Sr. Roberta.
2:30PM - Maureen had a cough where she expelled some phlegm onto her tongue. Maya was able to catch it with a swab. This is a great sign that the congestion in her chest is loosening up/clearing.
2:55PM - Sr. Roberta arrived.
3:20PM - Afternoon fruit snack
Daytime recap> Maureen had another good day today. Appetite was good. Level of engagement and communication was better than normal. Energy was good for the most part—eyes were wide open. Low moan/groan was far less frequent today. Maureen's cough indicates that the congestion in her chest in loosening up. Let's hope all these trends continue in a positive direction.
