  • 6:30AM - Maureen is awake. As long as she remains fully awake, Maya will give Maureen small sips of water with a mouth swab until we start our day.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:15AM. She is in good form this morning—a healthy amount of energy and engagement. Maya first applied Tolcylen to both big toes. Diaper is medium wet. We used all three 3M Cavilon products, where appropriate, to clean and change Maureen. Maya cleaned all areas of focus on Maureen's upper body with Aloe Vesta Cleansing Foam and warm wipes from the purple packet. There were no red areas.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:47AM. Posture in the geri chair is good. She is tilting to the left and forward a bit. Maya started out with a teaspoon of Manuka Honey followed immediately by the thyroid medication with a small bit of applesauce.

  • Maureen will consume approximately four ounces of prune juice this morning.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • General observation @ 8:59AM> We are off to a much better start this morning—a normal one. Maureen has her eyes open. She is chewing and swallowing normally. Her engagement and communication with Maya is good.

  • 9:19AM - Maya administered the blood pressure medication with a smattering of applesauce.

  • 9:31AM - Morning oral care

  • 9:40AM - We tilted the geri chair back one level to relieve pressure on Maureen's sacrum and to make her more comfortable.

  • 9:45AM - Low moan/groan starts.

  • 10:02AM - Morning facial—including hands and arms.

  • 10:30AM - Organic fruit smoothie

  • That's New> Maureen on at least 4 occasions held water in her mouth this morning. This high frequency is definitely not normal.

  • 10:53AM - We transported Maureen to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I perfumed a clean & change and then set Maureen up on her right side.

  • 11:08AM - Rest Break #1 begins

  • 12:20PM - Rest Break #1 ends. Diaper is medium wet. We performed a clean & change and proceeded to the kitchen posthaste—all kinds of organic stuff was waiting.

  • 12:32PM - Maya prepared 1/2 a tuna salad sandwich on toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of organic vegetable soup, a serving of shredded beats and a small serving of garlic green beans. Maureen enjoyed a chocolate chip cookie and a small glass of milk for dessert.

  • 1:22PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 1:55PM - It was time to head to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #2. Diaper was medium wet. After completing a clean & change, Maya and I placed Maureen on her left side.

  • 2:08PM - Rest Break #2 begins.

  • 3:05PM - Rest Break# ends. Diaper was medium wet. Maureen had a small formed bowel movement. We completed a clean & change and then headed to the front room for the remainder of the afternoon. It is Dream Car Week on TPIR!

  • 3:20PM - Afternoon fruit snack

  • Daytime recap> Maureen had a pretty good day today. Her energy, engagement and communication were much improved. She chewed and swallowed well. Coughing was a little less than average of late. Only fell asleep while in the geri chair on a few brief occasions. One negative is the she held water in her mouth 5-6 times. She had a small formed bowel movement in the afternoon.
