August 25 daytime update

• 6:35AM - Maureen is sleeping lightly. She is stirring a bit.

• 7:00AM - Maureen is awake. She continues to stir lightly.

• The day officially began @ 8:05AM. Maureen was in good spirits. She is alert and engaged—more so than yesterday. During the get ready process, she only dozed off once for a minute. Her diaper was wet. Djon thought cleaned her with warm wipes from the purple packet. We did note red marks on the upper areas of both of her buttocks. Djon applied a small amount of Desitin to each spot.

• Breakfast service commenced @ 8:27AM. Before starting, Djon administered the thyroid pill. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is very good. She was tilting a bit to the right. We inserted a green wedge pillow to allow her to sit perfectly upright.

• Maureen will drink 1/2 a cup of prune juice this morning.

• GENERAL OBSERVATIONS> Maureen's hands and arms are relaxed. They are resting at her waistline. Hands are not clenched. Her eyes are almost completely wide open.

• Maureen did not fall asleep once during the breakfast service.

• Coughing was far greater than normal: 7-8 deep coughs. Maureen also sneezed twice.

• 9:18AM - Maureen began napping approximately 20 minutes ago. She woke up twice for a just a minute or so.

• 10:01AM - Maureen took the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin

• 10:10AM - Organic fruit smoothie time

• 11:26AM - Maureen's pull up was wet. We took her to the bathroom in the hope that she would move her bowels. She sat on the commode in excellent posture for 15 minutes—with no material assistance. There was no bathroom activity. Djon thoroughly cleaned Maureen and put on a new pull up. The red marks on both buttocks we observed this morning are still visible.

• 12:50PM - Lunch - Today, Chef Brian prepared Chick-fil-A. Maureen enjoyed some grilled chicken nuggets, mac & cheese and waffle fries. She also consumed one bottle of coconut water. Maureen coughed 3-4 times during lunch—also sneezed two times.

• GENERAL OBSERVATION #2> @ 1:25PM - Since approximately 11:55PM, Maureen's eyes have not been fully open. She is uttering the low moan/groan somewhat regularly. Her brow is furrowed. Arms are somewhat locked high up on the torso. Her hands are lightly clenched.

• 1:56PM - Maureen's pull up was wet. As of this moment, it had been more than two days since she had a bowel movement. For this reason, we decided to take her to the bathroom again. She was on the commode for more than 45 minutes. After about five minutes, she had a very small formed bowel movement. From that point forward. Maureen was pushing very hard to move her bowels—she was contorting her body, expressing verbally how hard she was pushing and squeezing Brian's hand very hard. During this time, she began to push out a small piece of stool. Djon could see if. After another 15 minutes or so with no additional progress , Djon concluded that the stool was impacted/bunched—very dry. He decided to insert his pinky into Maureen's rectum to break up the stool. It worked. Maureen had a medium size bowel movement. In addition to fecal matter, the glove Djon was wearing had blood on it. After moving her bowels, she relaxed. Djon cleaned her throughly. There was no blood on any of the wipes. We put on a new pull up and placed her in the living room in the lift recliner.
