6:45AM - Maureen is awake. Stirring lightly. Djon checked the diaper. It is dry.
Our day officially began @ 8:12AM. Maureen was a bit disengaged at first. We waited a few minutes before starting the morning routine. Maureen's diaper was wet. Djon thoroughly cleaned her using warmed wipes from the purple packet and also put on a new pull up and a pair of freshly laundered shorts.
Maureen's arms were locked tightly on the upper part of her torso this morning—hands clenched.
Breakfast service began @ 8:34AM. Maureen will enjoy a red velvet donut from Joe Donut this morning in addition to a banana. Djon administered the thyroid pill just prior to the start of breakfast service. Maureen's posture in the geri chair is good. She was tilting a bit to the left. We inserted a green wedge pillow to straighten her posture.
She is a bit disengaged this morning—looking a little more to the left than normal. Her eyes are wide open for the most part.
Maureen will consume 1/2 cup of undiluted prune juice this morning.
There is no sleep/gunk in her eyelashes.
Red areas underneath both sides of Maureen's nose are gone.
8:51AM - Maureen is starting to tire. Her eyes are beginning to close—losing energy. This lasted for just a few minutes. She perked back up a bit.
Maureen is congested this morning.
9:36AM - Djon just administered the blood pressure pill and baby aspirin.
9:56AM Vitals - Oxygen: 98, Pulse: 94 and Temperature was 98.4 (same reading three times.)
10:01AM - Maureen stared to utter the low moaning/groaning sporadically at approximately 9:30AM. Her eyes are also starting to close a bit again.
While Djon was brushing Maureen's teeth this morning, he might have located the source of the bleeding from last Sunday. It is the molar on the upper set immediately to the right of her upper canine tooth.
11:06AM - Djon checked the pull up—wet. We headed to the bedroom for clean and change. Maureen had a medium size firm bowel movement that was basically in the pull up. Djon throughly cleaned Maureen and put on a fresh pull up.
11:20AM - The newly formed cut and curl crew of DOKA, Djon and Kathy, fresh off their return from Tokyo where they styled the USA Women's water polo team, plied they innumerable skills to sculpt Maureen's hair to perfection. Another job well done. Kathy continues to show great adaptability in working with her third partner. Well done Kathy. You are a true American hero.
12:07PM - Val Diaz, Maureen's NorthShore RN, came to the house for a visit. This was her last one. Vale was very pleased with Maureen's condition. Vitals were as follows: Blood pressure: 134/72, Oxygen: 96, Pulse: 63 and Temperature was 98.4. Val checked Maureen's lungs. According to her, "They were nice and clear."
12:35PM - Lunch - Djon prepared a turkey sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread, a bowl of Maya's homemade lentil soup and a little pasta.
1:30PM Vitals - Oxygen: 98, Pulse: 74 and Temperature was 98.3
2:20PM - Djon determined the pull up was wet. We headed to the bedroom since Maureen had a bowel movement earlier today. Once we began to remove her pull up, it became obvious she had a medium/large loose bowel movement. Djon noted the odor of the stool was foul. I agreed. This tool us by surprise as Maureen was not fidgeting around in the prior 30 minutes. There was no odor. It took us quite a while to clean her up. Djon did yeoman's work. After removing the vast majority of the stool with wipes, he washed Maureen's entire lower area with soap and water. As a last step, Djon once again wiped the entire lower are with wipes from the green packet. We then put on a diaper and new pair of shorts because the stool seeped through to the pair Maureen was wearing.
3:00PM Vitals - Oxygen: 96, Pulse: 82 and Temperature was 98.5
