  • 6:30AM - Maureen is awake. Maya checked the diaper. It is dry.

  • Maya will give Maureen sips of water periodically from a mouth swab as long a Maureen remains fully awake.

  • Maureen began her day @ 8:05AM. She is alert and engaged. Congestion is obvious. The diaper is light wet. Wednesday is bed bath day. Click/tap here for a detailed overview of the process Maya and I use each week.

  • Breakfast service began @ 8:52AM. Posture in the geri chair is good. Maureen's head was tilting back a few degrees. Maya inserted the red velour couch pillow to get Maureen's head positioned at a proper angle to enjoy her breakfast. Click/tap here for detailed overview of the entire breakfast service process Maya and I use each day.

  • Since it has been more than 1.5 days since Maureen's last BM, she will drink a total of six ounces of prune juice this morning.

  • Daily MiraLAX dosage: None

  • General observations @ 9:20AM> The day began well. Congestion is heavy. Energy is above normal. Eyes are wide open. As such, engagement, communication and responsiveness are all at acceptable levels. Coughing is minimal at the halfway point of breakfast.

  • 9:42AM - Morning oral care

  • General observations @ 9:45AM> Maureen's energy is decreasing. She is constantly uttering the low moan/groan. There are very brief periods where she dozes off.

  • 9:53AM - We tilted the geri chair back one notch for Maureen's comfort and to relieve stress/pressure on her sacrum

  • 10:04AM - Morning facial including hands and arms

  • 10:20AM - Hand, arm, shoulder and leg exercises

  • 11:06AM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Rest Break #1. Diaper was medium wet. Maya and I perfumed a clean & change. Upon completion, we will set Maureen up her right side.

  • 11:20AM - Rest Break #1 begins. It will be an extended one since Maureen's nurse will be at the house for her weekly visit. Maureen will spend the first half of the break on her right side—second half will be on her back.

  • 12:54PM - Rest Break #1 concludes. Diaper is light wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. We then got Maureen prepped to shampoo and style her hair.

  • 1:21PM - Hairstyling in the kitchen

  • 1:29PM - Lunch | 1/2 a turkey sandwich with melted cheese on lightly toasted whole wheat, 1/2 a bowl of homemade meatball soup with rice and a serving of potato salad. Maureen will drink one 12 ounce bottle of Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water during lunch. For dessert, Maureen will enjoy a small serving of rice pudding.

  • 2:18PM - Afternoon oral care

  • 3:06PM - We headed to the bedroom to prepare for Julie Karr, RN's arrival. Diaper was heavy wet. Maya and I cleaned and changed Maureen. Upon completion, it was time to head to the front room the remainder of the day.
