Wednesday 10-23-24 Daytime summary

8:35 Maureen’s awake now, we raised the bed to administer the thyroid medication with a couple scoops of applesauce.

8:50 we changed a dry diaper with one small spot of discharge and applying the no sting barrier along with the barrier cream in the usual spots. After getting dressed, we lifted and turned Maureen to wash her hair.

9:20 we transferred to the kitchen and Joanna dried and styled Maureen’s hair as if she were going out on a date 😍

9:35 Maureen was given her antibiotic with some applesauce, breakfast followed immediately, consisting of 8oz prune juice with a capful of MIRALAX and a smoothie with activia mixed in. A LORATADINE pill was added to the last of the smoothie, as well

9:55 Oral care, cleanup and facial were performed. No coughs during the breakfast service, but once after the facial, producing some phlegm which was removed with the suction machine.

10:20 Maureen has closed her eyes to take a little rest, Carolyn has stopped by for the visit with Kelsie.

11:00 Kelsie, the nurse has arrived for her weekly visit. Maureen’s lungs are clear, she had the following vitals; Temp. 97.9°, pulse was 76 and her blood pressure was 98/56

We also discussed starting the steroidal cream on her left hand.

11:30 Kelsie and Carolyn just left, we transferred to the bedroom for the first break.

Maureen had a large BM, formed, and urinated during the change, probably medium.

Maureen is laying on her right side for this first rest period, starting around 11:55.

I applied a pea sized amount of

TRIAMCINOLONE to the spot on Maureen’s left hand that appears to have gotten a little more prominent as of late. I worked it in, around the raised skin, making sure the hand wasn’t allowed near her face.

1:00 first break is over, Maureen is dry so we just got dressed and headed to the kitchen for lunch. Maureen is enjoying the other half of yesterday‘s lunch, which is turkey with provolone, onion and tomato with mayo cut up with some potato chips on the side and sparkling water to accompany it.

1:45 Cleanup and oral care are done, Maureen is now just relaxing in the Geri chair, listening to music. One cough during lunch.

2:40 we transferred to the bedroom for the second break. We cleaned and changed from a medium wet diaper, no discharge. Laying on her left side, Maureen will remain here for an hour.

3:40 Break time is over, diaper is clean and dry … heading to the front room for fruit snack and gameshows.
