Thursday September 23, 2021 Dayshift Update

• 6:48am Maureen is sound asleep, lying on her left side.

• 7:30am Maureen is awake. Repositioned to her right side. Diaper is dry.

• 8:40am Our day begins. Maureen’s diaper is slightly wet. We cleaned thoroughly using 3M cleanser spray. Applied Cavilon barrier cream to inner thighs and rectum area. Applied film to pressure area and Mupirocin to open areas. The red spot under Maureen’s left breast looks great today so we decided to forego applying Nystatin. Put on a clean pull-up and transferred to Geri chair using the Hoyer lift.

• 9:10am Swabbed Maureen’s mouth with Peroxyl and replaced her upper and lower partials. Administered thyroid medication afterwards.

• 9:23am Maureen finished breakfast - oatmeal, banana, half a cup of prune juice, and a cup of water.

• 9:24am Administered LISINOPRIL and baby aspirin with applesauce. Spoonful of honey after.

• 9:30am Oral care followed by facial cleanse. Also cleaned Maureen’s eyelashes with baby shampoo and eye drop in each eye.

• 10:00am Morning exercises.

• 10:26am We headed to the bathroom. Maureen’s pull-up is dry. She did not urinate. She was visibly grunting for 15 minutes and had a small bowel movement. Maureen was still grunting towards the end of our trip to the bathroom. We opted to give her another dose of MIRALAX with prune juice at 11:10am.

• 11:46am Maureen’s brow is furrowed and she is restless in the recliner. We headed to the bathroom. Maureen’s pull-up is medium wet. After 10 minutes of grunting with no activity, I decided to help Maureen. I inserted my pinky in her rectum to help her. Maureen had a medium sized, formed bowel movement. Cleaned up and put on a fresh pull-up. We returned to the recliner after and Maureen is much more more calm. She fell asleep as soon as we returned.

• 1:00pm Maureen’s pull-up is dry.

• 1:12pm Lunchtime. Maureen will eat half a turkey sandwich, a serving of Brussels sprouts, homemade green pea soup, and a bottle of organic coconut water.

• 1:40pm Oral care. No bleeding occurred.

• 2:30pm Maureen’s pull-up is medium wet so we headed to the bedroom for a change. Cleaned thoroughly using the 3M cleanser spray, applied Mupirocin to open areas, and put on a fresh pull-up. We headed to the recliner after.

• 3:30pm Fruit snack time.
