Sunday, October 12 Daytime update

  • 8:00 am - Maureen it’s already awake. She is receiving sips of water via swab from Tom.

  • 8:25 am- We placed Maureen on her back.

  • 8:35 am - We raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.

  • 8:40 am- We started the day with changing a light wet diaper. Tom and I cleaned Maureen , applied Sureprep barrier wipe and Cavilon cream. Next we washed Maureen’s upper body. Dressed and transferred her to the recliner.

  • 8:55 am- Nebulizer treatment with saline solution.

  • 9:10 am- Maureen had 10 oz of lemon water.

  • 9:15 am- Breakfast- omelette, half of a pear, 8 oz of prune juice. Maureen coughed three times, sneezed a few times. Her nose was running only while sneezing.

  • 10:00 am- Morning oral care.

  • 10:15 am- Facial and hand care routine.

  • 11:30 am- We transferred Maureen to bed for her first rest break. Diaper was dry. She will lay down on her right side for an hour starting at 11:40 am.

  • 12:40 pm- Maureen’s first rest break ended. Her diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed , transferred to the wheelchair and headed to the kitchen. Put sunglasses, sunscreen and hat on, headed outside .

  • 1:00 pm- Lunch- chicken lemon soup with crackers, baked apple for dessert, 10 oz of coconut water. Maureen coughed four times, sneezed a few times with her nose running.

  • 1:40 pm- Oral care.

  • 1:45 pm- We went for a walk around the block. Maureen was alert the whole time.

  • 2:10 - We came back from our walk. Transferred Maureen to the bed for her second rest break. Diaper was dry. We inserted a suppository and positioned Maureen on her right side at 2:20 pm.

  • 3:20 pm- Maureen’s second rest break is over now. Her diaper was medium wet with an extra large formed bowel movement. During the cleaning process she had another large formed bowel movement. Tom and I cleaned her thoroughly and changed. Dressed and transferred to the recliner.

  • 3:45 pm- Maureen is enjoying Sister Roberta’s treatment.

  • 4:00 pm- Fresh fruit snack- watermelon and apple. Two coughs.

  • 4.30 pm- Carolyn came for a visit and brought a delicious homemade meal.

  • 4:50 pm- Nebulizer treatment with saline solution.

  • 5:10 pm- Dinner- Pasta with chicken, mushrooms and green peas, 10 oz of electrolyte water. Maureen enjoyed it. She coughed twice, sneezed twice

  • 5:50 pm- Administered 12 5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 6:10 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:20 pm- Maureen had 5 oz of ginger water.

  • 6:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the e. Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream. Cleaned her face and applied Cetaphil lotion to her face, hands, legs and feet. Positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • Maureen consumed 43 oz of liquids toy. Her hands were a little more tight today, she was very alert, gave us a few big smiles.
