Sunday, May 4 Daytime update

  • 8:00 am- Maureen is just slowly waking up. She is calm, laying on her left side.

  • 8:30 am- Maureen looks ready to start the day. We raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.

  • 8:35 am- Tom and I started with changing a heavy wet diaper. There was a brownish spot on it. No vaginal discharge on her body though. Cleaned and applied Cavilon barrier film on sacrum area, Cavilon cream on inner tights and Calazinc on almost healed redness. Washed Maureen’s upper body, dressed and transferred her to the recliner.

  • 8:55 am-.Maureen had 4 oz of water mixed with a little coconut water for taste. She wasn’t very receptive to it. Just kept holding it in her mouth and then spit it out.

  • 9:00 am- Breakfast- omelette, 6 oz of prune juice, little pear and banana. Maureen coughed four times, was able to cough up some phlegm. Suction machine was used.

  • 9:40 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.

  • 9:45 am- Morning oral care.

  • 9:50 am- Facial and hand care routine.

  • 10:30 am- We gave Maureen a nebulizer treatment with saline solution and albuterol.

  • 10:50 am - Maureen closed her eyes.

  • 11:10 am- Maureen took 20 minutes nap.

  • 11:15 am- Deacon Andy arrived.

  • 11:25 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. Diaper was dry. We positioned her on her right side at 11:35 am.

  • 12:35 pm- Maureen’s first rest break is over. Her diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and transferred Maureen to the recliner.

  • 12:50 pm- Lunch- Chicken noodle soup, zucchini with onions . Maureen didn’t cough during lunch. She finished 10 oz cup of sparkling water.

  • 1:30 pm- Oral care.

  • 2:00 pm - We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Diaper was dry. She is going to lay down on her left side for an hour starting at 2:10 pm.

  • 3:10 pm- Maureen’s second rest break ended. Her diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and headed to the front room.

  • 3:15 pm- Sister Roberta arrived.

  • Carolyn came to visit.

  • 4:00 pm- Fresh fruit snack- watermelon, pear and kiwi. No coughs during fruit feeding.

  • 4:15 pm- Maureen finished 10 oz cup of water.

  • 5:00 pm- Dinner- bow tie pasta with chicken, peas and spinach, made by Carolyn. Maureen enjoyed it a lot. She coughed twice. Maureen had 5 oz of water.

  • 5:50 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 6:10 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:30 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream and Calazinc cream. Cleaned her face and applied Cetaphil lotion to her face, hands and legs.

  • Maureen consumed 35 oz of liquids today.
