Sunday, June 28 Daytime update

  • 9:30 am- Maureen is asleep, comfortably laying on her left side. Tom said that she woke up around 7:30 am and had an episode of a lot of coughing and sneezing. He used the suction machine 3 times. Maureen was awake for about half an hour and then went back to sleep.

  • 10:00 am- Maureen is still sleeping.

    Djon and his family came to the house to visit Maureen.

  • 10:30 am- Maureen is sleeping .

  • 10:35 am- We positioned Maureen on her back. She opened her eyes. There were no signs of any discomfort .

    We noticed that her left elbow was swollen and there was a red spot. Djon said that looks like it is a pressure spot and the swelling of the elbow was from Maureen laying on it.

  • 10:45 am- We raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.

    Maureen had 4 oz of thickened water.

  • 10:55 am- We changed a medium wet diaper. There was a large bloody spot on it. We cleaned, and changed her. Applied Sureprep barrier film and Prevent silicone cream.

    We washed Maureen’s upper body. Cleaned the left breast with gauze sponge and Skintegrity wound cleanser. There was no discharge.

    Applied Triamcinolone cream on her right foot. Redness appears to be fading.

  • 11:15 am- We transferred Maureen to the living room.

  • 11:25 am- Administered 10 mg of Cetirizine tablet with applesauce.

  • 11:30 am - Breakfast- omelette, 6 oz of thickened prune juice. Maureen coughed twice, we used the suction machine.

  • 12:10 pm- Administered 20 ml of Geri Tussin with applesauce.

  • 12:15 pm- Oral care.

    Facial and hand care routine followed.

  • 12:20 pm- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 12:40 pm- Maureen closed her eyes for a nap.

  • 1:15:- Maureen is awake now.

    She had 10 oz of thickened sparkling water. No coughs.

    We skipped the yogurt due to her being asleep and the late breakfast.

  • 1:35 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her rest break.

    Diaper was dry. We positioned Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:35 pm- Maureen’s rest break ended. Her diaper was dry, but she had a medium formed bowel movement. We cleaned and changed her. There was a bloody discharge when cleaning. We dressed and transferred Maureen to the recliner.

  • 3:00 pm- Sister Roberta is here for Maureen’s treatment.

  • 4:45 pm- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 4:55 pm- Maureen’s diaper is dry.

  • 5:00 pm - Dinner-grilled Italian sausage and noodles, 10 oz of thickened coconut water. Maureen coughed once.

  • 5:45 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat, 20 ml of Geri Tussin and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 5:50 pm- Maureen had 5 oz of thickened water.

  • 5:55 pm - Evening oral care.

  • 6:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was medium wet. We cleaned and changed her. Applied Prevent silicone cream. Applied Cetaphil lotion to her face, hands , legs and feet.

    Applied Triamcinolone cream on her right foot.

    Cleaned her left breast with a gauze sponge and Skintegrity.

    Positioned Maureen on her left side.
