Sunday, January 4 Daytime update

  • 9:30 am- Maureen is awake. Tom said that she was awake around 6:30 for awhile, but went back to sleep.

  • 9:50 am- We placed the bed in upright position and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce.

  • 9:55 pm- We started the day with changing a light wet diaper. Cleaned Maureen, applied Sureprep barrier film on sacrum and Cavilon cream on inner tights. Next we washed Maureen’s upper body. Dressed her and as we were ready to transfer her, Deacon Andy came in for regular Sunday service. We transferred Maureen to the recliner right after.

  • 10:25 am- Maureen had 10 oz of lemon water.

    Administered 10 mg ot Loratadin with applesauce.

  • 10:30 am- Breakfast- omelette with onion, pepper, tomato, ham and cheese, 8 oz of prune juice, piece of pear, 2 oz of coffee. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 11:10 am- Morning oral care.

  • 11:15 am- Facial and hand care routine.

  • 11:45 am- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. Diaper was medium wet and she had a medium soft bowel movement. We cleaned and changed her. Positioned Maureen on her right side .

  • 12:40 pm- Maureen just woke up from a 20 minutes nap. Her diaper was dry. We dressed her and headed to the front room.

  • 12:50 pm- Lunch- mini meatballs and rice soup, 10 oz of coconut water. Maureen coughed 4 times, sneezed a few times.

  • 1:40 pm- Oral care.

  • 2:10 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Her diaper was dry. Positioned Maureen to face her right side at 2:20 pm.

  • 2:55 pm- Maureen’s second rest break is over now. Her diaper was medium wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Dressed and transferred to the recliner.

  • 3:15 pm- Fruit tart as a snack, 5 oz of sparkling water. Maureen coughed once, sneezed a couple of times.

  • 3:30 pm- Maureen is enjoying Sister Roberta’s treatment.

  • 4:45 pm- Dinner- Salmon, mushed potatoes, mixed vegetables, 5 oz of sparkling water. Maureen coughed twice.

  • 5:40pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 5:50 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:05 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Her diaper was medium wet with a large soft bowel movement in. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream. Applied Cetaphil lotion on her face, hands and legs . Positioned Maureen on her left side.

  • Maureen consumed 40 oz of water today. She ate very well and was pretty alert throughout the day.
