Sunday, February 23 Daytime update

  • 8:00 am- Maureen is just slowly waking up.

  • 8:15 am- Maureen is calmly laying on her left side, still looking sleepy.

  • 8:30 am- Maureen is awake now. We raised her bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with apple sauce.

  • 8:35 - We started the day. Maureen’s diaper was medium wet with a very little vaginal discharge. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. The red spot on the right of her sacrum is still visible, skin is intact. We applied Cavilon barrier film. Applied Cavilon cream on inner tights. Washed Maureen’s upper body. The red spot on her neck looks not as puffy as it was yesterday according to Tom. There is almost the same red spot on Maureen’s left elbow. Dressed and headed to the kitchen.

  • 8:50 am- Breakfast- 8 oz of prune juice, omelet, some pear.

    Maureen coughed three times, sneezed a few times. She is having also a 10 oz of water. We reclined Maureen’s chair after breakfast.

  • 9:40 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with apple sauce.

  • 9:45 am- Morning oral care.

  • 9:50 am- Facial routine.

  • 10:30 am- Maureen closed her eyes.

  • 11:00 am- Maureen took a 30 minutes nap. She finished her water.

  • 11:25 am - We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her first rest break. Diaper was dry. We positioned her on the right side at 11:35 am.

  • 12:35 pm- Maureen’s first rest break ended. Her diaper was heavy wet and she had a medium formed bowel movement. We cleaned and changed her. Dressed and transferred her to the kitchen.

  • 12:50 pm- Lunch- broccoli cream soup, chicken salad, 10 oz cup of coconut water, rice pudding for dessert. Maureen coughed twice, sneezed twice. We reclined the chair during lunch because of the tilting forward.

  • 1:30 pm- Oral care.

  • Maureen finished her 10 oz cup of coconut water. She had half a cup of lemon water.

  • 2:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her second rest break. Diaper was heavy wet. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Positioned Maureen on her left side at 2:10 pm.

  • 3:10 pm- Maureen’s second rest break is over. Diaper was dry. We dressed and headed to the front room.

  • 3:15 pm- Sister Roberta arrives.

  • 4:00 pm - Fresh fruit snack- watermelon, apple and banana. Maureen coughed twice. 4:30 pm- Carolyn brought delicious home made meals.

  • 4:55 pm- Maureen’s diaper is light wet.

  • 5:00 pm- Dinner- Lime scallops with tzatziki sauce, carrots , asparagus, spinach. Maureen enjoyed it. Coughed three times.

  • 5:50 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with apple sauce.

  • 6:10 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:30 pm - We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was heavy wet. We cleaned and changed her. Applied Cavilon cream. Cleaned Maureen’s face and applied Cetaphil lotion to her face, hands, legs and feet. Applied hydrocortisone to her red spot on her neck and left elbow.
