Sunday, April 26 Daytime update

  • 9:30 am- Maureen is sleeping, comfortably laying on her left side. Tom said that she was awake around 6:00 am for about half an hour. She was coughing and Tom was able to get some phlegm out with the help of the suction machine. After receiving some sips of water Maureen went back to sleep.

  • 10:00 am- Maureen is still asleep.

  • 10:30 am - Maureen opened her eyes. She was a little jumpy. We waited . After a few minutes we raised the bed and administered 75 mcg of Levothyroxine with applesauce. Maureen had 4 oz of thickened lemon water. While sitting she got some jumps again, eyes wide open. We put the bed down and positioned her on the right side. P-75, 02-96, T-98. After a little Maureen calmed down. We turned her on her back and started the day.

  • 11:00 am - We changed Maureen’s diaper. It was medium wet She had a medium size VD, brownish and odorless . We cleaned, applied Sureprep barrier film and Cavilon cream. Washed Maureen’s upper body, dressed and transferred her to the recliner.

  • 11:15 am- Deacon Andy came in for Sunday service.

  • 11:30 am- Administered 10 mg of Loratadin with applesauce.

  • 11:35 am- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 11:45 am- Administered 20 ml of Geri Tussin.

  • 11:50 am- Breakfast- omelette, 6 oz of prune juice with 1/2 cup of MiraLAX. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 12:20 pm Oral care.

    Facial and hand care routine followed.

  • 12:30 pm- Maureen had 10 oz of thickened coconut water. She coughed twice.

  • 1:00 pm- Fruit snack- watermelon. Maureen coughed three times, suction machine was used.

  • 1:30 pm- Maureen finished 10 oz of sparkling water. No coughs.

  • 1:35 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for her rest break. Diaper was heavy wet with a abloody VD, odorless. Then she had a large soft bowel movement. Tom and I cleaned and changed her. Positioned Maureen on her right side.

  • 2:40 pm- Maureen’s rest break is over. She took about 15 minutes nap during the break.

    We proceeded to get her up. Diaper was dry. We dressed her and transferred to the recliner.

  • 3:00 pm- Maureen is enjoying Sister Roberta’s treatment

  • 4:00 pm- Maureen had 10 oz of thickened sparkling water. Coughed once.

  • 4:20 pm- Nebulizer treatment with Albuterol.

  • 4:30 pm- Dinner- Stuffed bell pepper, 6 oz of coconut water. Maureen coughed three times.

  • 5:20 pm- Administered 20 ml of Geri Tussin with applesauce.

  • 5:40 pm- Administered 12.5 ml of Vimpat and 5 mg of Olanzapine with applesauce.

  • 5:50 pm- Evening oral care.

  • 6:00 pm- We transferred Maureen to the bedroom for the night. Diaper was heavy wet. We cleaned and changed her . Applied Cavilon cream. Applied Cetaphil lotion on Maureen’s face, hands and legs. Positioned her on the left side.

  • Maureen consumed 46 oz of thickened liquids today.
